SharePoint 2010 is a web-based collaboration platform that allows users to share and organize documents, ideas, contacts and access them from anywhere. It provides shared workspaces to store and access documents and information for teams and projects. Users can synchronize documents offline for mobile access and resolve editing conflicts through a merge engine. Third party providers can deploy web parts, workflows and other features to extend SharePoint's capabilities. Code is isolated for security and scalability.
