Project: - Device Fault Prediction
Duration: Jan’14 –till date
Environment: Cloudera CDH4.3, Hadoop, Map Reduce, HDFS, Hive, Eclipse
Role: Team member
Cisco’s support team on a day-to-day basis deals with huge volumes of issues
related to their network products like routers, switches etc. The support teams have
been operating on a reactive model i.e. based on the customer tickets/queries being
raised. Hence, to improve customer satisfaction, they would like the system to
predict network faults based on the logs being generated by various network devices
Responsibilities:
• Installed pseudo distributed mode and configured Map Reduce, HIVE and the
HDFS;
• Developed multiple Map Reduce jobs in Java for data pre-processing and cleaning.
• Moved all log files generated by various network devices into HDFS location.
• Written Map Reduce code that will take input as log files and parse the logs and
structure them in tabular format to facilitate effective querying on the log data.
• Created External Hive Table on top of parsed data
• Managed and reviewed Hadoop log files.
3. Project: - VCUIQA
Client: VMWare
Duration: June’12 –Dec’13
Environment: Java, Maven, selenium, eclipse
Role: Team Member
VMware vSphere is a Virtual Suite that provides comprehensive virtualization, management,
resource optimization. It consists of components like vSphere client and vCenterServer. VSphere Client
Interface is used to create Datacenters, Hosts, and Virtual Machines etc. VCenterServer runs on top of
Windows server to centrally manage ESX hosts. Virtual machines with different operating systems can
run without interfering with each other and can be accessed over the network as if they are physical
machines. Running multiple VMs on high end ESX server utilizes server resources like CPU, Memory,
Network and Hard Disk to their full capacity.
The Scope of the project includes test case creation based on UI/Functional specs, identifying
tests for automation as well automating the same, review as well execution of tests each regression
cycle and notification and verification of the defects found (automation as well manual execution)
Responsibilities:
• Coordinate with VMware coordinator for clarifications/issues
• Create design documents and develop code
• Involved Automation development.
• Ensure quality deliverables adhering to client standards
• Manage version control of sources
• Testing and debugging the application.
