INTRODUCTION:
The magnetic stirrer hot plate is generallyused to heat glassware or its contents and allowsthe heated
liquidtobe stirredautomatically.Ithasadual controllerthatallow userstoadjustthe temperatureof the
hot plate and the stirringspeedof the unit.This featuresmake it ideal forlightduty laboratoryuse.The
productsworkingtheoryusesmicroelectrical machinerydrivingthe heatproof magnetospintocreate a
magnetic field. The magnetic field will drive the stir bar spin in the container to achieve the purpose of
spinforthe solvent.Meanwhile,itcanheatthe solventtobe fullymixedandreactatthe settemperature.
The temperature of this device is adjustable up to 199˚C. And the speed range of the stirrer is between
0-1500 rpm. The body of hot plate stirrer is comes with a Teflon coated stirring bar providing excellent
heatconduction,heat/coldresistancesandcorrosionproof.Italsocontainsadigitallydisplayheatsensor
that can directly control and measure the temperature of the liquid inside the tank.

2. PURPOSE:
1) To uniformly mix the reaction material and balance temperature distribution.
2) To agitate the liquidforspeedingupthe reactionstoshortenreactiontime.A magneticstirreris
often used with hot plates.
3) It is very useful to improve bacterial growth media as well as buffer solutions.
4) To preventbumpingwhenheatingmaterialinanalrightvessel.
5) To blendthe oil andwaterphasesof an emulsion.
6) To blendthe solidandwaterphase of a suspension.
PROCEDURE:
Place the magneticstirrerona safe,flatandstable location.
Place the stirbar at the bottomof a glasscontainer.
Fill the glasscontainerwiththe liquidtobe stirred.
Plugthe maincable intoa suitablyearthedsocket.
Checkthe speedcontrol knobiscompletelyturnedanticlockwise.
Place the glasscontaineronthe centerof the magneticstirrer.
Pressthe On/Off switchtoturn the magneticstirrer On.
Adjustthe speedcontrol knobtoa low stirringrate.
Continue toadjustthe speedcontrol knobuntil the desiredstirringspeedisachieved.
Wait until the liquidisproperlymixed.
Completelyturnthe speedcontrol knobanticlockwise.
Pressthe On/Off switchtoturn the magneticstirreroff.
Manipulate anotherstirbarfrom the outside off the glasscontainertoremove the
immersedstirbar.
PRECAUTION:
a) Make sure that the device isproperlyconnectedwithpowersupply.
b) Make sure that the magneticstirrerisstilledswitchedoff before placingthe glass
containercontainingliquidmaterial onittopreventanysplashingincidents.
c) Ensure that the glasscontainerisnot filledtothe rimandsufficientspace isallowedto
preventanyspillagesduringthe stirringprocess.
3. d) Do not dropthe stirbar intothe glasscontainersince thiscancause the glasscontainer
to crack or break.
e) Thisis a precisionproduct,soplease avoidshakingwhenworking.
f) Keepthe containerinthe middle of the heatingplate inordertomake sure the stirbar
at the middle of the containerbottom.
g) Cleanthe stirbars as soonas possible withdistilledwater.
h) Please avoidtouchingthe heatingplate.
i) Adjustthe speedrotatorydial slowly,oritmay be out of control.
j) Please don’tputthe probe at the bottomof the containerwhenusersare usingPT-100
temperature sensor,otherwise itwillimpairthe commonstate of the stir bar.
k) The machine will stoprunningautomaticallyafterlongtime continuousworkathigh
speedunderundesirableconditions,whenitcoolsdown,the machine will resume toits
normal state and start to workagain.
