Very of ten when people in your marketing organization want to give
network marketing help, they tell you to write down your Goals. I am going
to suggest that setting goals may actually ruin your hope of success.
The reasoning f or goal setting will be that you must plan your work and
work your plan. The leaders will say, “If you don’t set a goal, then you don’t
know when you have been successf ul.”
Although I agree it is important to make a plan to get started, I’m not sure
that setting goals is the best network marketing help that can be given.
Unf ortunately, it can be the one thing that will make you f eel like a f ailure.
Have You Ever Been Shamed Into Setting An Unrealistic Goal?
Of ten network marketing help given by the gurus in your organization, might have you saying, “I will
enroll 4 people by the end of the month, who each enroll two, so I can quickly reach the f irst
recognition and compensation level.”
Great goal, right?
What if at the end of the month, despite your best ef f orts, you have enrolled two but they did not do
the same? You f ailed to achieve the specif ic goal, so the network marketing help you received just
made you f eel like a f ailure! And that is discouraging.
Here is a dif f erent Point Of View that can set you on a path to success and celebration.
Instead Of Setting A Goal, Set Up A Target
The great thing about a target is that even though you are shooting f or the bulls-eye, if you get
close, there is a cause f or celebration! Congratulate yourself ! Get excited! Jump f or joy! Don’t f ocus
on how much you missed, but rather on how close you came. Celebrate the successes and set up
another target. And, keep on shooting!
I have f ound that this slight change in my point of view has made a
huge dif f erence in my thinking. I still plan my work, and work my plan.
But I also celebrate and get excited because every step is getting me
where I want to be.

f ailure. With every bullseye, you will set up a new target and keep on
shooting.
