Este estudo, é o resultado de uma pesquisa realizada em parceria com a Associação Sul Maranhense de Música – ASMU e profissionais de educação de municípios da região de Imperatriz, a qual utilizou-se de um questionário para o levantamento de dados. A pesquisa traz dados positivos e favoráveis a educação musical, justificando a sua inserção no currículo escolar, e sua influência no desenvolvimento de características socioculturais dos alunos. Assim, a música apresenta-se como um instrumento facilitador do processo de ensino e aprendizado, que pode ser utilizado como propulsor de melhores índices da educação brasileira.
