Sea Lullaby, We Alone, and It’s All I Have To Bring Today-By: Maddy S.
Elinor WylieSea Lullaby
The old moon is tarnished With smoke of the flood,
The dead leaves are varnished With colour like blood,
A treacherous smilerWith teeth white as milk,
A savage beguiler In sheathings of silk,
The sea creeps to pillage, She leaps on her prey;
A child of the village Was murdered today.
She came up to meet him In a smooth golden cloak,
She choked him and beat him To death, for a joke.
Her bright locks were tangled, She shouted for joy,
With one hand she strangled A strong little boy.
Now in silence she lingers Beside him all night
To wash her long fingers In silvery light.

We AloneAlice Walker
We alone can devalue gold
By not caringif it falls or rises in the marketplace.
Wherever there is gold there is a chain, you know,
and if your chain is goldso much the worse for you
Feathers, shells and sea-shaped stones
are all as rare.
This could be our revolution: to love what is plentiful
as much as what's scarce.
We AloneWe alone can devalue goldBy not caring If it falls or risesIn the market placeWherever there is goldThere is a chain, you know,And if your chainIs goldSo much the worseFor youFeathers, shellsAnd sea-shaped stonesAre all as rare. This could be our revolution:To love what is plentifulAs much asWhat’s scarce.
It’s All I have To Bring Today-Emily Dickinson
It's all I have to bring today -- This, and my heart beside --
This, and my heart, and all the fields -- And all the meadows wide --
Be sure you count -- should I forget Some one the sum could tell --
This, and my heart, and all the Bees Which in the Clover dwell.
It’s All I Have To Bring Today--It’s all I have to bring today --This, and my heart beside --This, and my heart, and all the fields --And all the meadows wide --Be sure you count -- should I forgetSome one the sum could tell --This, and my heart, and all the BeesWhich the Clover dwell.
