2. Terminologies
Facial _outer surface of an anterior teeth
that is towards the face.
Mesial _ Surface between two teeth that
is towards the Medline.
Distal _ surface between two teeth that is
away from the midline
Incisal Edge _ biting surface of an anterior
tooth.
4. DECIDUOUS MAXILLARY
CENTRAL INCISORS
The primary maxillary central
incisors erupts into the oralcarvity at
the age of 10 month.
The root of the tooth is completed by
the age of 1.5 years.
5. The primary maxillary central incisors
are exfoliated by the age of 7 years and
are replaced by the permanent maxillary
central incisors teeth.
6. The maxillary central incisors is widest
mesiodistaly on the crown
Have a great coventure of CEJ
The root are conical in shape
The mesial conduct is in the incisal one third
and the distal conduct is at the junction of the
middle of incisal one third.
7.
8.
9. HOW TO DISTINGUISH LEFT AND RIGHT M/C/I
Is by observing the incisal angles
Where the mesioincisal angle is usually
sharper and the distal incisal angle is
usually rounder.
10. The incisal surface of the newly erupted
deciduous maxillary central incisors has no
mamelons unlike the permanent maxillary
central incisors which has Three mamelons
on the incisal surface.
The labial surface of the tooth is smooth with
no developmental depression or grooves.
11. LABIAL ASPECT
The mesial and the distal outline of the crown of the
decidious maxillary central incisors are more rounded
as compared to permanent maxillary central incisors.
The mesioincisal angle is Sharp and the distoincisal
angle is rounded.
The root is single and conical in shape
The root appears longer as compared to the length of
the crown.
12. LINGUAL ASPECT
The cingulum is present on the cervical third of
the crown
The cingulum is more well developed as
compared to the permanent maxillary central
incisors.
The mesial and distal marginal ridge are more
prominent as compared to the permanent
maxillary central incisors.
13.
14. A small fossa that is referred to as
lingual or palatal fossa is present on the
lingual aspect of the tooth.
The root is narrow on the lingual side
therefore part of the mesial and distal
aspect of the teeth is visible from the
lingual aspect.
15. MESIAL ASPECT
The curvature of the cervical line is towards the
incisal aspect
The extend of the curvature is more on the mesial
aspect of the tooth.
The crown of the decidious maxillary central incisors
appears thicker at the middle third of the crown.
The mesial surface of the root has either a
developmental depression or groove.
16. DISTAL ASPECT
The curvature of the cervical line on the
distal aspect is less compared to the
mesial aspect
The crown and the root of the decidious
maxillary central incisors on the distal
aspect are convex and there is no
developmental depression or groove
17. The cervical position of the crown has well
developed cervical ridge of enamel.
This feature is visible both from the mesial
and distal aspect.
18. INCISAL ASPECT
The crown of the decidious central incisors appears wider as
compared to the labiolingual dimension.
The labial surface of the tooth is more broad and smooth as
compared to the lingual surface.
The incisal ridge is straight mesiodistally.
19.
20. PROXIMAL VIEW
The crown outline is triangular in shape
The height of contour for both the labial and the lingual is in the
cervical one third
