Macbeth

“A drum, a drum!
   Macbeth doth
     come”(pg. 15)
Written by the very famous, Sir
William Shakespeare...Macbeth
is a story filled with greed,
      death, and tragedy.
The key lesson that Macbeth and other important characters
learn is that every action has a consequence.
“All hail, Macbeth, that shalt be king hereafter!”(pg.17)

• When the witches put the idea of being king
into Macbeth’s head it gives him the taste of
wanting to be king. He then knows he wants
that position of power. This is what gets the ball
     rolling...
• Macbeth
    ignores the witches superstitious
predictions and he chooses to tell his
    crazy, power thirsty wife,
    Lady Macbeth.
“Come, thick night, And
  pall thee in the dunnest
smoke of hell, that my knife
   see not the wound it
        makes...”(pg.33)

    Lady Macbeth hears the
possibility that she can be queen
and she jumps at the idea. She
orders her husband to kill an
  innocent king, Duncan, in
order for her husband to be
               king!
This reaction from Lady Macbeth pushes
Macbeth to give in, which leads to him
committing the murder. This leaves him in a
         state of utter guilt and
          apprehension.
Then Lady Macbeth is over-whelmed with
              guilt...
• She is seen going insane
• She is constantly trying to wash her hands of the bloody guilt
that she forces upon herself and her husband
• “Out, damned spot, out I say!...who would have thought the old
man to have had so much blood in him?”(pg. 163)
“What should be spoken here, where our fate... Let’s away. Our
tears are not yet brewed.” (pg.71)

 Malcolm Donalbain

Duncan’s sons flee the kingdom because they do not want to get
blamed for the murder, so Malcolm and Donalbain have to leave
their home because of Macbeth’s actions
Finally the guilt becomes too much for Macbeth and he
goes crazy and ends up being killed by Macduff...

                                 • If the witches hadn’t
                                     put the idea in
                                     Macbeth’s head, he
                                     wouldn’t have killed
                                     Duncan in the first
                                     place

                                 • In the end, Macbeth’s
                                     own actions led to his
                                     tragic death
That is why it is important to always
           remember...

 every action has a
   consequence.
Thank you...
