Beyond was established in 1983 and is considered the most representative Chinese rock band. They gained fans not just in Hong Kong and China but also internationally. The band wrote their own lyrics focusing on social issues. In 1993, the lead singer Wong Ka Kui died in a tragic accident during a television performance in Japan.
