1) The document is a sermon about Jesus raising Lazarus from the dead according to the gospel of John.
2) It describes how Jesus wept upon seeing Mary and Martha grieving over the death of their brother Lazarus, even though he knew he would raise Lazarus from the dead.
3) The central message is that Jesus' love for humanity led him to raise Lazarus to demonstrate his power over death.

What challenge did the nation of Israel encounter in Joshua 1:1? If you were Joshua how would you have felt? Why do you think God told him, “be strong and of good courage”? How does our definition of success influence or affect our lives? How would you define success? How does the world view success? How did the Lord use the word “success” in Joshua 1:6-9? Name 3 examples of those who are successful in the Bible and 3 who were not. What made the difference in their lives? Name the 3 commands God gave to Joshua in verses 6-9. Which command did he repeat? How many times? Why? Why does it take courage to obey the word of God? These and other questions are addressed in this study in Joshua 1.

It seems that current missionary work requires spending a lot of money, preparing a lot of materials, and traveling to far away places, so that it feels like missionary work. But what was the result they brought back? It's just a lot of photos of activities, fun eating, drinking and some playing games. And then we have to do the same thing next year, never ending. The church once mentioned that a certain missionary would go to the field where she used to work before the end of his life. It seemed that if she had not gone, no one would be willing to go. The reason why these missionary work is so difficult is that no one obeys God’s words, and the Bible is not the main content during missionary work, because in the eyes of those who do not obey God’s words, the Bible is just words and cannot be connected with life, so Reading out God's words is boring because it doesn't have any life experience, so it cannot be connected with human life. I will give a few examples in the hope that this situation can be changed. A375

Maud church of Christ
By Jim Bradshaw
Sunday Morning, Nov. 9, 2014
2. 1. So many have shown they care.
2. We have elders who care.
3. No Greater Love
Joh 3:16-17 ESV "For God so loved the world, that he
gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should
not perish but have eternal life. (17) For God did not
send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but
in order that the world might be saved through him.
Joh 15:12-14 ESV "This is my commandment, that
you love one another as I have loved you. (13)
Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay
down his life for his friends. (14) You are my friends if
you do what I command you.
5. Joh 11:1-7 ESV Now a certain man was ill, Lazarus of Bethany, the village of
Mary and her sister Martha. (2) It was Mary who anointed the Lord with
ointment and wiped his feet with her hair, whose brother Lazarus was ill. (3) So
the sisters sent to him, saying, "Lord, he whom you love is ill." (4) But when
Jesus heard it he said, "This illness does not lead to death. It is for the glory of
God, so that the Son of God may be glorified through it." (5) Now Jesus loved
Martha and her sister and Lazarus. (6) So, when he heard that Lazarus was ill,
he stayed two days longer in the place where he was. (7) Then after this he
said to the disciples, "Let us go to Judea again."
6. Php 2:6-11 ESV who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality
with God a thing to be grasped, (7) but made himself nothing, taking the form of
a servant, being born in the likeness of men. (8) And being found in human
form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even
death on a cross. (9) Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on
him the name that is above every name, (10) so that at the name of Jesus
every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, (11) and
every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
7. Lazarus Had Died
Joh 11:8-16 ESV The disciples said to him, "Rabbi, the Jews were just now
seeking to stone you, and are you going there again?" (9) Jesus
answered, "Are there not twelve hours in the day? If anyone walks in the day, he
does not stumble, because he sees the light of this world. (10) But if anyone
walks in the night, he stumbles, because the light is not in him." (11) After
saying these things, he said to them, "Our friend Lazarus has fallen asleep, but I
go to awaken him." (12) The disciples said to him, "Lord, if he has fallen
asleep, he will recover." (13) Now Jesus had spoken of his death, but they
thought that he meant taking rest in sleep. (14) Then Jesus told them plainly,
"Lazarus has died, (15) and for your sake I am glad that I was not there, so
that you may believe. But let us go to him." (16) So Thomas, called the Twin,
said to his fellow disciples, "Let us also go, that we may die with him."
8. Lord if You had Been Here
Joh 11:17-22 ESV Now when Jesus came, he found that Lazarus had already
been in the tomb four days. (18) Bethany was near Jerusalem, about two miles
off, (19) and many of the Jews had come to Martha and Mary to console them
concerning their brother. (20) So when Martha heard that Jesus was coming,
she went and met him, but Mary remained seated in the house. (21) Martha
said to Jesus, "Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died. (22)
But even now I know that whatever you ask from God, God will give you."
Joh 11:32 ESV Now when Mary came to where Jesus was and saw him, she
fell at his feet, saying to him, "Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not
have died."
9. Jesus is the Resurrection and Life
Joh 11:21-26 ESV Martha said to Jesus, "Lord, if you had been here, my
brother would not have died. (22) But even now I know that whatever you ask
from God, God will give you." (23) Jesus said to her, "Your brother will rise
again." (24) Martha said to him, "I know that he will rise again in the
resurrection on the last day." (25) Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and
the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, (26) and
everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?"
1Co 15:20-22 ESV But in fact Christ has been raised from the dead, the
firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep. (21) For as by a man came death, by
a man has come also the resurrection of the dead. (22) For as in Adam all die,
so also in Christ shall all be made alive.
10. I Believe That
Joh 11:27 ESV She said to him, "Yes, Lord; I believe that you are the Christ, the
Son of God, who is coming into the world."
Mat 10:32-33 ESV So everyone who acknowledges me before men, I also will
acknowledge before my Father who is in heaven, (33) but whoever denies me
before men, I also will deny before my Father who is in heaven.
11. Jesus
Wept Joh 11:32-38 ESV Now when Mary came to where Jesus was and saw
him, she fell at his feet, saying to him, "Lord, if you had been here, my
brother would not have died." (33) When Jesus saw her weeping, and
the Jews who had come with her also weeping, he was deeply moved in
his spirit and greatly troubled. (34) And he said, "Where have you laid
him?" They said to him, "Lord, come and see." (35) Jesus wept. (36)
So the Jews said, "See how he loved him!" (37) But some of them said,
"Could not he who opened the eyes of the blind man also have kept this
man from dying?" (38) Then Jesus, deeply moved again, came to the
tomb. It was a cave, and a stone lay against it.
Weeping – (klaiō) to weep for, mourn for, bewail, one (Thayer)
Wept – (dakruō) to weep, shed tears
12. Jesus Loves Us
Rom 5:6-8 ESV For while we were still weak, at the
right time Christ died for the ungodly. (7) For one will
scarcely die for a righteous person--though perhaps for
a good person one would dare even to die-- (8) but
God shows his love for us in that while we were still
sinners, Christ died for us.
Heb 2:17-18 ESV Therefore he had to be made
(IAI) like his brothers in every respect, so that he
might become a merciful and faithful high priest in the
service of God, to make propitiation for the sins of the
people. (18) For because he himself has suffered
(RAI) when tempted, he is able to help those
who are being tempted.
13. Jesus Loves Us
Heb 4:14-16 ESV Since then we have a great high
priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus, the
Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. (15) For
we do not have a high priest who is unable to
sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every
respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin.
(16) Let us then with confidence draw near to the
throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find
grace to help in time of need.
He Knows Our Cares
1Pe 5:7 ESV casting all your anxieties on him,
because he cares for you.
14. Take Away the Stone
Joh 11:39-44 ESV Jesus said, "Take away the stone." Martha, the sister of the
dead man, said to him, "Lord, by this time there will be an odor, for he has been
dead four days." (40) Jesus said to her, "Did I not tell you that if you believed
you would see the glory of God?" (41) So they took away the stone. And Jesus
lifted up his eyes and said, "Father, I thank you that you have heard me. (42) I
knew that you always hear me, but I said this on account of the people standing
around, that they may believe that you sent me." (43) When he had said these
things, he cried out with a loud voice, "Lazarus, come out." (44) The man who
had died came out, his hands and feet bound with linen strips, and his face
wrapped with a cloth. Jesus said to them, "Unbind him, and let him go."
Luk 24:2-5 ESV And they found the stone rolled away from the tomb, (3) but
when they went in they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. (4) While they
were perplexed about this, behold, two men stood by them in dazzling apparel.
(5) And as they were frightened and bowed their faces to the ground, the men
said to them, "Why do you seek the living among the dead?
