The document discusses how patient networks and information sharing have changed healthcare from Health 1.0 to Health 3.0. In Health 1.0, information only flowed one way from providers to patients. In Health 2.0, patients began contributing information as well, creating a two-way flow. Now in Health 3.0, everyone is interconnected and able to share a common pool of information, with medical knowledge existing outside traditional channels as networks of patients and providers collaborate.

like capillaries, through which
information can flow – just like a nutrient.
