LSE Enterprise is the commercial arm of the London School of Economics and provides customised services including executive education, consultancy, research, and briefings. It draws on LSE's expertise in areas such as health, public policy, and international development to advise governments, organizations, and businesses around the world. LSE Enterprise employs 17 staff and has worked with over 200 clients in more than 60 countries since 1993.

6. Understanding conflict We project-managed a study on the causes of violence in Southern Sudan. Its findings are being implemented by governments and NGOs

7. Evaluating civil society engagement We assessed how well AusAid is helping civil society to contribute to the development of effective states in Papua New Guinea, Vanuatu and the Philippines

8. Health care in Turkey We investigated the efficacy of a new inhaler in treating chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, and gave a budget impact analysis of the product We assessed the cost effectiveness of a new, easy to use drug for patients at risk of myocardial infarction We studied an oral coagulant intended to eliminate the risk of venous thromboembolism in patients undergoing major orthopaedic surgery

9. Supporting communities in London We produced a report for Hammersmith United Charities on supporting communities, preventing social exclusion and tackling need. Research among residents resulted in the identification of urgent areas of action and in the creation of models for supporting low-income communities

10. The Catalan Observatory We set up the Catalan Observatory, an international platform to share knowledge about the issues facing Catalan society and create links between Catalonia and the world. It hosts lectures and conferences, produces publications and engages the public with Catalan issues

11. Public spending priorities Our report for the Greater London Authority analysed the pattern of public spending in London compared to other regions, arguing for increased spending autonomy

13. Joint venture with world leader We have a joint venture with Duke Corporate Education, which is consistently ranked the world leader in customised executive education

14. Training Foreign Office diplomats We have run intensive Economics for Foreign Policy programmes for over a thousand Foreign and Commonwealth Office staff in Whitehall and around the world

15. Executive training on regulation With services around the world increasingly delivered by the regulated private sector, businesses and regulators are interested in getting regulation right. Our open access courses have been running for over a decade

16. EU and UK public sector reform We have worked in Kazakhstan since 2005. A recent course for experienced civil servants supported the Kazakhstan government’s programme to reform the public sector and build economic and commercial systems that will deliver higher levels of prosperity

17. A term at LSE Four cohorts of Basque professionals have spent ten weeks at LSE undertaking specialist postgraduate study in political economy, relevant to the Basque region’s needs

18. Public sector leadership Our customised annual programme for senior officials in the government of Taiwan covered the application of political ideas around the world, the latest techniques in public sector management and practical development of leadership expertise
