LSC FOOTBALL PLAYOFFS
Texas A&M-Commerce and Midwestern State will play for the Lone Star Conference football playoffs title on
November 14 at 2:30 p.m.
The Lions and Mustangs match-up in Commerce, Texas, will be broadcast as the DII Football Showcase on the
American Sports Network.
The American Sports Network will announce possible regional and national broadcasts the week of the
game. Fans will also be able to watch the game live, free of charge, on NCAA.com and the NCAA Sports Mobile
App.
Angelo State and Eastern New Mexico will play in the third-place game in Blackwater Draw, N.M.
The fifth-place game pits Texas A&M-Kingsville at West Texas A&M, while Oklahoma Panhandle State is at
Tarleton State in the final playoff match-up.
LSC FOOTBALL
LSC football teams are 38-30 overall this season. The squads are 9-1 combined versus the Great Lakes
Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, Great Lakes Valley Conference and Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference
teams, which are also in NCAA Super Regional Four.
PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
OFFENSIVE
Harrison Stewart, Texas A&M University - Commerce, SR, QB, Yucaipa, Calif., Upland HS
Stewart threw for his second straight 300-yard game in the No. 1 seeded Lions thrilling 36-35 win over No.
4 seed ASU Saturday. Stewart connected on 50 percent of his passes, 22-of-44, for 335 yards and three
touchdowns including the game-winning TD pass - a 25-yard strike to Lance Evans over the middle. Stewart
has been brilliant when his number has been called for the Lions. He leads the league in passing efficiency and
is 16th in the NCAA. He is eighth in the NCAA in passing yards per completion after 15.2 yards per completion
average Saturday.
DEFENSIVE
Daniel Laudermilk, Midwestern State University, SR, LB, Austin, Texas, Austin HS
Laudermilk made a career-high 20 tackles including 2.5 for loss to lead No. 11-ranked Midwestern State to
a 26-21 win over Eastern New Mexico Saturday in the Lone Star Conference Playoffs at Memorial Stadium.
The senior linebacker made nine tackles and assisted on 11 others to key a Mustangs defense that limited
the nation’s fifth-best offensive attack (513.7 yards per game) to 358 yards and to 108 in the second half.
Laudermilk leaped into seventh place on the school’s all-time tackles with 247 making the second-most stops
in a single-game in MSU program history.
SPECIAL TEAMS
Richard Cooper, Texas A&M University - Commerce, JR, PR/KR, Angleton, Texas, Angleton HS
To say Richard Cooper jolted the Lions NCAA postseason hopes and LSC Playoff Championship dreams would
be an understatement. After No. 4 seed ASU came out of the half with a 7-play, 75-yard drive that deflated the
No. 1 seeded Lions and the crowd in Memorial Stadium, Cooper answered the bell darting through tacklers
and up the near sideline for an 88-yard kickoff return touchdown. It was his first time back to return a kick this
season. Cooper went on to account for 211 all-purpose yards after adding 116 rushing yards and seven yards
receiving. Cooper averages 118.6 yards per game on the ground and has rushed for over 100 yards in nine of
the 10 Lions games this season.
OTHER TOP PERFORMERS
Le’Nard Meyers, Tarleton State University, finished with a team-best four catches for 66 yards and is now tied
with Jeremy Madkins for second on the all-time career touchdowns list and is one touchdown from the record.
Kamal Cass, Eastern New Mexico University, turned in one of the top performances of his career against one
of the best defenses in the Lone Star Conference. On ENMU’s first offensive play of the game, he broke a 70-
yard touchdown run to put the Hounds on the scoreboard first. Despite carrying the ball 26 times, he managed
to average over seven yards and finish with a career-best 197 yard performance. Cass crossed the goal line
three times and has registered nine touchdowns in his last three games. In the third quarter, Cass went 20 yards
on his only reception of the game on a third-and-nine play.
Greg Pitre, Texas A&M University - Kingsville, one week after finishing with 175 receiving yards and two
touchdowns, finished with a career-high 189 rushing yards in a 43-25 victory over Tarleton State in the opening
game of the consolation bracket of the LSC Playoffs... Pitre finished with 28 carries and averaged 6.6 yards/rush
while sitting out the entire fourth quarter as the Javelina offense exploded for a season-high 43 points... he
added three receptions for 41 yards, including a 34-yard touchdown grab... the 5-7 junior has now had back-to-
back career-best performances in receptions and rushing yardage, respectively.
Kyle Washington, Angelo State University, led the Rams with 154 yards on the ground and 227 yards through
the air while accounting for four touchdowns. The senior carried the ball a career high 25 times and scored
twice on the ground. He also hit Donovan Thompson and Brett Rasberry for passing touchdowns. He leads
NCAA Division II with 406.8 yards per game.

LONE STAR CONFERENCE FOOTBALL WEEKLY RELEASE 2
Devon Paye, West Texas A&M University, had
an outstanding game in the Buffs’ 28-21 victory at
Oklahoma Panhandle State Saturday. He had 11
carries for 85 yards and a score, including the game
winner late in the fourth quarter for 19 yards giving
the Buffs the seven point margin. He also caught
three balls for 34 yards and a touchdown. He led the
team with 119 all-purpose yards. It was Paye’s first
game in a WT uniform of scoring both a rushing and
receiving touchdown. Paye’s two scores helped WT
secure at a minimum its school-record 11th-straight
non-losing season.
Jarmarquis Durst, Tarleton State University, had a
career-high 18 tackles for Tarleton with 15 coming as
solo tackles and two for a loss.
Iosia Iosia, West Texas A&M University, had eight
total tackles, including three solo stops and a team-
high two tackles for loss for 10 yards and one sack for
eight. He leads the team with 8.5 tackles for loss for
the season and five sacks. He was all over the field in
the Buffs’ 28-21 victory at Oklahoma Panhandle State
Saturday.
Ibrahim Maiga, Eastern New Mexico University,
registered a strong performance in Saturday’s Lone
Star Conference playoff game at Midwestern State.
After Eastern seized a 14-3 lead in the first quarter,
he registered an interception to set the Hounds up
at their own 35-yard line. Late in the third quarter,
Maiga forced a fumble, which helped stall a MSU
drive.
Tyree Barton, Texas A&M University - Commerce,
saved the Lions NCAA Playoff hopes and chances at
the a LSC Playoff title on No. 4 seed ASU’s final play.
Facing a 4th-and-1 at the Lions two yard line, ASU
elected to try for a QB sneak to seal the game. Barton
snuck around the right end and hit Kyle Washington
right at the line of scrimmage halting the quarterback
in his tracks. The stop preserved the Lions 36-35 win
and guaranteed the team a trip to the NCAA Playoffs
for the first time since 1995. Barton also added five
total tackles in the game and a tackle for loss.
Jared Mosley, Texas A&M University - Kingsville,
looked exceptional in Texas A&M-Kingsville’s 43-
25 victory over Tarleton State, collecting four solo
tackles, 2.0 sacks, 3.0 tackles for a loss and a safety in
the win... the Michigan native finished with 3.0 TFL’s
for 15 yards and 2.0 sacks for 14 yards as the defense
finished with a season-high six sacks and 11.0 tackles
for a loss.
Felipe Parra, West Texas A&M University, had
another great game for the Buffs as he punted four
times for 175 yards for a 43.8 average. He had a long
punt of 56 yards with one touchback and one inside
the 20. Parra leads the LSC with a 43.1 average per
punt. He has 52 punts for 2240 yards with a long of
76. He has five touchbacks, 11 fair catches, 16 punts
inside the 20 and 12 over 50 yards.

Angelo State
ASU’s Kyle Washington broke the ASU single season
passing record with 3,288 yards in a season ... It is
the second consecutive season he has set the single
season passing mark ... He also carried the ball a
career high 25 times ... Clayton Callicutt broke the
ASU career record for sacks with his 31.5 sack of his
career on Saturday ... The senior is No. 5 nationally in
sacks with 11.5 on the year ... ASU continues to lead
Division II in total offense averaging 553.4 yards per
game ... The Rams will face Eastern New Mexico on
Saturday, Nov. 14 at 1 p.m. CST in Blackwater Draw for
the third place game of the LSC Playoffs.
Eastern New Mexico
The Eastern New Mexico University football team’s
defense registered one of its best performances of
the season. That performance was nearly enough
to overcome early turnovers, which led to 10 points
for 11th-ranked Midwestern State in the first half of
Saturday’s Lone Star Conference playoff game. The
Greyhounds built a 14-3 lead after scoring runs from
Kamal Cass and a defensive stand in the redzone. The
Mustangs used points from an interception and long
fumble return to pull within 14-13 at intermission.
Although Eastern was able to extend the lead in the
second half on Cass’ third touchdown of the game,
Midwestern State scored the final two touchdowns of
the game and held on for the 26-21 win. Cass finished
with a career-high 197 rushing yards, while Ibrahim
Maiga had seven tackles, and interception, and a
forced fumble. This week, the ENMU football team
will host Angelo State.
Midwestern State
Midwestern State improved to 9-1 for just the third
time in program history taking a 26-21 win over
Eastern New Mexico Saturday night in the Lone
Star Conference Playoffs at Memorial Stadium...
The Mustangs finished 10-1 in both 1949 and 2011
winning nine of their first 10 games in each season...
Midwestern faced a halftime deficit for the fifth
time this season... The Mustangs have outscored
opponents 192-113 in the second half this season
including a 111-47 edge in the third quarter...
Sophomore quarterback Hagen Hutchinson remained
unbeaten as a collegiate starter improving to 7-0...
Hutchinson rushed for a career =-high 123 yards on
eight carries including a campaign-long of 66 yards
in the first quarter... Hutchinson completed 18-of-40
passes for 150 yards... Junior wide receiver Statron
Jones made a team-high six receptions for 68 yards
to move into ninth place on MSU’s all-time receiving
yards list with 1,198 and is also 10th in program
history with 82 receptions... Sophomore running back
Don Jerry accounted for two touchdowns on runs of 3
and 7 yards in the fourth quarter to lift MSU to a 26-
21 win over Eastern New Mexico... Jerry finished with
38 yards on 11 carries while catching three passes
for 34 yards... The MSU defense limited the nation’s
fifth best offensive attack (513.7 yards per game) to
358 yards and to 108 total yards in the second half...
The Mustangs forced turnovers on four consecutive
possessions in the second quarter including three
fumbles and an interception by Sir’Vell Ford... Senior
safety Marqui Christian returned a fumble 63 yards for
a touchdown in the second quarter. It was his second
career fumble return for a touchdown with the first
coming on an errant punt snap at West Texas A&M
in 2012 for the game winning score to clinch an LSC
Championship... Christian’s 63 yards scoop-and-score
was the fifth longest return in program history and
longest since Taiyon Jackson went 90 yards at Angelo
State in 2013... The Mustangs’ defense also scored
a touchdown on a fumble return earlier this season
against Eastern New Mexico when Alec DiValerio
went 31 yards for a score in the third quarter... Senior
linebacker Daniel Laudermilk made a career-high 20
tackles including 2.5 for loss against the Greyhounds
to leap into seventh place on MSU’s all-time tackle list
with 247... Laudermilk’s 20 tackles were second only
to NAIA All-American Corby Walker’s 24 stops made

Texas A&M-Commerce
Harrison Stewart has throw for 300-plus yards in
back-to-back games after his 335 yards Saturday and
his 432 yards against Sam Houston State on October
31. Stewart has thrown for 2,644 yards moving just
218 yards within surpassing Buster Faulkner’s 2,861
yards in 2004 for second on the Lions single-season
passing list. Stewart has thrown for 4,487 yards
moving into seven on the Lions all-time passing list.
He surpassed Royce Slechta and his 4,378 yards
from 1985-87... Richard Cooper eclipsed the 2,000
yard career rushing mark as his 116 yards becoming
just the sixth Lion all-time with over 2,000 rushing
yards. His 2,025 career yards moves him into sixth
all-time on the career rushing list... On the season,
Cooper has ran for 1,186 yards in 2015 moving into
seventh on the Lions single-season rushing mark
just ahead of Demetrius Rector and his 1,167 yards
in 2001... Richard Cooper’s 88 yard kickoff return for
a touchdown was the first kick return for a score in
the Carthel-era... With Darby Smith and Lance Evans
hauling in 138 yards and 126 yards respectively
through the air, the Lions had a pair of receivers
over 100 yards for the first time in 2015... The Lions
have won on goal line stands in the first round of the
Lone Star Conference Playoffs for the second straight
season after stopping Tarleton State in 2014... A&M-
Commerce and played six straight games decided
by five points or less. In the last three meetings,
the Rams have scored 35 points and have gone 1-2
in those games.... The win lifted the Lions to No. 11
in the AFCA Coaches poll and guaranteed the team
their first trip to the NCAA Playoffs since 1995. A win
Saturday could give the Lions their first home playoff
game since 1991.
Texas A&M-Kingsville
The Javelinas had arguably their best game of the
season in a 43-25 victory at Tarleton State Saturday,
collecting 11.0 tackles for a loss and six sacks in the
win... the 43 points were the most in a game this
season and junior RB Greg Pitre finished with 189
rushing yards, 41 receiving yards and a touchdown
despite sitting out the final 15 minutes of the
contest... Myles Carr threw for three touchdowns and
was not sacked... TAMUK heads to Canyon to battle
WT on Nov. 14 at 1 p.m.
West Texas A&M
The West Texas A&M football team won its fifth
game of the season with a 28-21 victory at Oklahoma
Panhandle State Saturday...The win gave the Buffs a
5-4 record and they will host Texas A&M-Kingsville
Saturday in the final game of the season for both
teams...WT won its 500th game in program history
with the win at OPSU...WT now is 500-495-22 all-
time...The Buffs secured, at worst, their 11th-straight
non-losing season which is a school-record...WT
has 10-straight winning campaigns dating back to
2005...It marked the third consecutive win for WT
this season, marking the longest winning streak of
the year...Junior running back Devon Paye had 11
carries for 85 yards and scored the game winner
from 19-yards out late in the fourth quater for the
28-21 win...It was Paye’s first game of rushing for a
touchdown and receiving one in the same game in a
WT uniform...Senior DE Iosia Iosia had eight tackles
with two tackles for loss for 10 yards and one sack for
eight yards...Senior Xavier Amey caught seven balls
for 91 yards and a score, while senior Geremy Alridge-
Mitchell had 20 carries for 80 yards and a score...WT
held a 7-0 lead at halftime and built a 21-7 lead, but
the Aggies scored a touchdown and got a pick-six to
tie the game at 21 in the 4th...It was Mike Nesbitt’s
22nd win at WT (22-12).
