What is a Wedding Planner?
- Dictionary Definition:
1) A person hired to plan and organize a
wedding, reception, and possibly the honeymoon
in consultation with the bride and groom.
2) One who gives expert or professional advice
to couples planning a wedding, reception or
honeymoon. May plan the entire wedding or
simply give advice to couples who want to plan
their own.




Wedding Planners have been around
since people were getting married.
Significant change in the last 30 years.
1981, Princess Di & Prince Charles’
wedding put the spotlight on the industry
and extravagant weddings.



Today, most couples are getting married
later in life.
Most couples are paying for weddings
themselves.
Average length of an engagement is 15 months.
 Average overall cost for a guest is $186.
 Number of weddings in 2013 – 2.16 million.
 Most popular age for a man & woman to get
married is 25-34.
 Average cost per wedding
– Nationwide – $24-26k,
in CLT area - $25.5k


