LOST CAUSE is a dark drama feature film that is currently in pre-production.
We have received initial funding and are seeking additional funds for post-production
and marketing.
Tecumseh, the dying leader of an
off-the-grid home for recovering
drug addicts, desperately
manipulates his followers to prepare
them for his death.
The film’s an allegory on rural
opioid abuse, polarization, racism,
and modern Southern identity.
Think DOGTOOH meets Cormac
McCarthy.
CREATIVE BRIEF
As a Georgia filmmaker and film festival
programmer, I believe there’s a missing
“Southern voice” in today’s film scene.
Southern styles have seeped into art ranging
from hip-hop to literature, but Georgia’s film
industry has so far been defined by
Hollywood movies that shoot here. With
LOST CAUSE, I want to tell a Southern
Gothic story with Southern collaborators.
DIRECTOR’S STATEMENT
BRENT LAMBERT-ZAFFINO has written,
directed, produced, and edited feature films,
documentaries, short films, and music videos for the
past ten years, picking up accolades along the way -
this includes the original script for LOST CAUSE, a
finalist at the 2019 Milledgeville Eatonton Film
Festival. LOST CAUSE will be his second feature
as Writer/Director after 2017’s THE HEAD.
Brent is also Creator and Programming Director of
the Etowah Film Festival in Canton, GA, a position
that provides regular insights into the current world
of independent filmmaking and distribution.
J HARTWELL’s music and
experimental soundscapes are as
equally essential to this project. A
lifelong composer and longtime
creative collaborator with Brent
Lambert-Zaffino,
J Hartwell’s Georgia-native history
and inspired weirdo sensibilities
make him the perfect Ennio
Morricone to this film, a creative ace
in the hole.
Wild Hunt Media focuses on telling stories of
other times and places across multiple
mediums, and are experts at assembling the
crew needed to get our film made.

JUNE 2021 // 10 DAY SHOOT: Shoot entire film over 10 days, with
two optional days for pickups.
JULY - SEPTEMBER 2021 // POST-PRODUCTION: Edit picture,
sound, color, and create deliverables for festival circuit.
OCTOBER 2021 - OCTOBER 2022 // FESTIVAL CIRCUIT:
Develop online presence while marketing the film for the festival circuit,
starting with large, distributor-attending, festivals and working through
smaller local festivals to build an audience.
NOVEMBER 2022 // FALL RELEASE
THE STORY
The Compound’s leader/founder
TECUMSEH, catches BLUE as Blue
tries escaping.
Tecumseh stages Blue’s death like an overdose,
disputing The Compound’s “family” pf recovering
drug addicts.
Tecumseh learns he’s
dying of a mysterious
ailment. He must keep
this a secret and find a
way to keep the “family”
together after he’s gone.
As his condition worsens, Tecumseh tries
uniting “the family” with fear-based, tactics, but
the lies catch up with him. Tecumseh nor The
Compound survive.
DICE is Compound’s most loyal
member, but he’s also its most
fragile.
FLO carries the child that could be The
Compound’s next generation but she’s showing
signs of wanting to escape — Just like Blue.
MOM is next in line to lead, but without
Tecumseh, her impulsiveness could
destroy The Compound.
With COVID-19 slowing the Hollywood production
process while simultaneously increasing the demand for
content, there has never been a better time to shoot a micro
budget, $50,000 thriller like LOST CAUSE.
The creative team behind the project has the tools and
experience to safely shoot a quality film at this budget level
as well as inside knowledge of the film festival circuit and
independent distribution world to get the film seen.
INVESTOR DEAL
10 Points Available
10 Shares = 5 Points = $50,000
1 Share = 1 Point = $10,000
WATERFALL (not including any representation/
distribution/legal fees from festival sale.)
FULL $50,000 reimbursed pari passu amongst all investors.
20% interest bonus on total of all invested funds repaid.
Investor’s share will be split according to total investment.
E.g. $20,000 = 2 Points = 8% bonus interest.
