INTRODUCTION

                                                                          20/09/2012
 Library is the heart Zanzibar University.
 Lack of independent learning and library use habit is a
common problem among university and college students

                                                                         Zanzibar University Library Services
    (Omar, 2010).
 Students fail to make effective use of library resources
probably because they lack foundation in the use these
    important resources.
 Ranganathan (1973) claimed that “neither our school nor our
colleges train our students in the use of reference books, not
to speak of the general use of library”.

                                                                     3
