TED Talk on Lone Nuts, credit Kim Thanos for the theme.
Characteristics of the lone nut. Define the lone nut, and explain that the lone nut needs to find followers. We aren’t alone. Sometimes you walk into the room, and you seem like the lone nut, but you’re not alone- there are a lot of people in the space who are interested being in nuts.
How to build collaboration, how to get colleagues and friends who believe in open education too. -- drawing a stakeholders map???? Work on language that others understand.
Nuts are great in salads, with chocolate, in trail mix – the goal is to integrate your nutty goodness with other projects – because you’re not a lone nut if you’re paired with cheese.
What happens when someone really can’t have nuts? Accept it, but be sure that they know what your message is. i.e. You’re not a peanut, so make sure that your message fits what you want people to know about you. (Change some language…)
All the reasons why you might think you’re crazy, but you’re actually helping people along.
