racecar. I have full P&L responsibility and am currently focused on developing this business in China by raising capital, increasing
awareness of our product through various marketing activities, identifying our potential partners, and negotiating contracts.

Full P&L responsibility for all aspects of this project-management based consulting firm. Consulting services focus in four areas:
- Business Strategy Consulting: Develop China market entry and/or expansion strategies

business development activities for all of China. Set up the operation, developed the first corporate plan for entering into the
Chinese auto market, influenced group plans, and hired key employees.

Full general management authority and P&L responsibility for driving business development efforts: identify business opportunities
for all Magna groups to enable them to enter and/or expand in the PRC market; cultivate and maintain high-level government
contacts; and spearhead PR and marketing strategies to raise company awareness among customers and governments in China
and to capture legitimate business opportunities for the Magna group business units. Reported to Magna President of Asia Pacific.
Significantly increased market presence and contributed to the expansion of Magna from two business units in China with three
joint venture operations (resulting from acquisitions of larger entities outside of China) to nine of ten groups with 16 manufacturing
entities, three engineering centers, and a country headquarters.
– Grew to a total of 20 operations in China, including four Joint Ventures and 16 wholly owned facilities.
– Provide strategic plans to business units’ decision makers so they could enter or increase their presence in the China,
including target customer identification, wholly owned or joint venture analysis, and acquisition possibilities.
– Conduct initial due diligence and handle facility location identification, analysis, and recommendation.
– Structure development zone and/or government contracts for project establishment, and liaise between the group and
government to facilitate legal establishment of entities.
– Work with groups to hire initial employees with key focus on middle management (groups typically assign their own GM
and hire workforce locally and use MIC’s resources for engineering/middle management functions).
– Recommended and assisted in process of buying-out two joint venture partners and taking the companies to wholly
owned status; group is more successful, flexible, and efficient based on this change.
– Built customer awareness of Magna and the group’s activities in China through speaking engagements, participation in
auto shows and conferences and development and coordination of in-customer tech shows.

– Sole expatriate manager with full P&L responsibility in this 700+ employee 50/50 joint venture manufacturing operation
(acquired by Magna International’s Seating Group in late 1996). Handled partner selection, due diligence and joint
venture negotiations. Oversaw engineering, production, quality, finance, HR, and material control functions. Managed
eight direct reports including two VP’s assigned by Chinese partner.
