Love
It is in…
Our name,
Our hearts,
Our actions,
The statement of who we are,
The Bible verses we proclaim.
Lord of Love
Lutheran Church
“Expressing our faith in love to all”
What we believe
at Lord of Love.
We believe that God loves us and calls us to be a
church; a people created by God in Jesus Christ,
empowered by the Holy Spirit, called and sent to
bear witness to God’s creative, redeeming, and
sanctifying activity in the world.
We believe that the Bible is the written Word of
God. It tells the story of God’s relationship to the
people of God and shares the story of how God
expresses love towards us by intervening on our
behalf through the life, death, and resurrection of
Jesus Christ.
We believe that by God’s grace alone we are
saved, by no power of ourselves, we are
trans-formed to a new life. Our sins are forgiven
by the proclamation of the Good News of Christ
and by the administration of the sacraments of
Baptism and Communion.
We believe that God is one in Trinity; God the
Father, creator of all things; God the Son, Jesus
Christ who became incarnate in human flesh in
order to carry out the divine mission of
reconciliation; and God, the Holy Spirit, who
works to continue the act of restoring us to a right
relationship with God, one another, and all of
God’s creation.
We believe that God calls us as instruments of
love, to express our faith in love to all; of
restoration, seeking to heal broken relationships
and broken people; of creativity, to intentionally
explore ways to serve God and others.
We believe that God calls us to welcome others
to our community of faith, to be examples by
being faithful disciples, to share our stories to
testify to what God has done in our lives, and to
worship God to let others know how good God is.
MAKING CHRIST KNOWN
2. Greetings in the name of
our Lord and Savior, Jesus
Christ. I invite you to
participate in the mission
of Lord of Love,
"expressing our faith in
love to all.”
We take the banner of the
ELCA "Making Christ Known" and seek to have
others know the richness of a life with Christ.
Our worship is a little noisier than some; it is an
expression of where Christ has brought us from to
where we are today. Our worship attire is “what
makes you comfortable” from blue jeans to suits. It is
a reflection of our members, as we come from
different backgrounds, to find a home at LOL where
we are comfortable and yet challenged. We are
challenged to earth out Christ words in John
13.35: “By this everyone will know that you are my
disciples, if you have love for one another.”
We organized in November, 2009 as a Synodically
Approved Worshiping Community of the Evangelical
Lutheran Church of America. Don’t be confused by
the “SWAC” status. Although is technically the
first of a three stage process of becoming a fully
independent ELCA Church, we function as a regular
congregation.
We welcome all to join us on our journey of faith. All
are welcome regardless of age, disability, gender,
nationality, religious background, sexual identity or
socioeconomic status. We believe it is a standard set
by God. “For God so loved the world that he gave
his one and only Son that whoever believes in him
shall not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16.
Come and experience the saving, life changing, and
healing community of Lord of Love Lutheran Church.

carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.”

Steering Committee
The steering committee is a ministry team whose
primary function is to conduct the business of the
church and to be stewards of the church’s resources.
We try to organize the congregation’s ministries with
the foundation of Christ’s love for all as the heart of our
decision making.
Worship Committee
Our mission is to facilitate the worship service to
spread the Gospel of the Lord. The committee
meets monthly to evaluate the liturgical needs of the
congregation and to assure that Lord of Love remains a
welcoming and healing community.
Our services are filled with
laughter, tears
& God’s
abundant
grace & love.
Christian Theater
Our Christian Theater is one medium that we use to
reach all ages in spreading God’s message through the
various multitudes of talents in our congregation.

Christian
Education
We believe that growing our spiritual life
and learning to be Christians is a
life-long journey.
With open minds and hearts, we learn,
we share, we discuss and we grow.
Our education ministries explore the
Bible, what it means to be Christian,
what it means to be Lutheran,
what challenges we face as loving people
and how we can
make a difference in the world.
Adult Sunday School
Join us on Sunday mornings before services to
learn and discuss a wide range of topics relevant
to our faith.
Kid’s Club
Education through creativity, fun and song!
Pre-school through 5th grade.
Confirmation
“Making Your Faith Your Own”
Confirmation is a time when the church helps
families learn the central teaching of the church
which include; the 10 Commandments, Apostles
Creed, the Lord’s Prayer, Holy Baptism,
Communion and Confession, worship, Lutheran
theology and general bible studies.
Youth Group
The Lord of Love Lutheran Youth Group brings
young people together in a life of faith, action and
fellowship. Spiritual, emotional and social needs
unique to youth are addressed. To attain this we
meet regularly to develop a network of Christian
relationships.
Many
opportunities to
serve God, in
Jesus, through
mission work
and service
projects help us
better understand our role as disciples of Christ.
Women’s Bible Study

your relationship to God and get practical biblical
