Locksmithing has existed for over 4000 years, with early examples found in ancient Egypt and Babylon. Locksmiths were metalworkers who crafted locks and security devices out of wood and metal to protect buildings and storage. In the 18th century, the introduction of metallurgy allowed locksmiths to create more durable locks and keys from metal. Several famous 18th century locksmiths, including Joseph Bramah, Jeremiah Chubb, James Sargent, Samuel Segal, and Harry Soref, invented new lock designs that significantly advanced security and the profession of locksmithing. Their innovative locks were tougher to break into and provided better protection for homes, safes, and other structures.

Connector Corner: Automate dynamic content and events by pushing a buttonDianaGray10
Here is something new! In our next Connector Corner webinar, we will demonstrate how you can use a single workflow to:
Create a campaign using Mailchimp with merge tags/fields
Send an interactive Slack channel message (using buttons)
Have the message received by managers and peers along with a test email for review
But there’s more:
In a second workflow supporting the same use case, you’ll see:
Your campaign sent to target colleagues for approval
If the “Approve” button is clicked, a Jira/Zendesk ticket is created for the marketing design team
But—if the “Reject” button is pushed, colleagues will be alerted via Slack message
Join us to learn more about this new, human-in-the-loop capability, brought to you by Integration Service connectors.

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).
Speakers:

2. Locksmith: A
Profession
Locksmithing is art of designing and
producing locks and other mechanisms
used to secure buildings, storage, objects,
safes, rooms and other places. Locksmiths
are talented metal-workers with the
knowledge of shaping the meta pieces of
the locks, and doing much of the hard file-
work.
3. Ancient Locksmiths
Traces of Locksmithing have been
recovered from the Ancient Egypt and
Babylon, estimated 4000 years ago. At
that time Locksmiths used created
wooden devices in which tin tumbler
principle was used to prevent free
movement of the door bar.
The Lock was in the shape of modern
toothbrush that was to lock the doors. One
of those simple locks was discovered in the
remains of the Assyrian Empire, in the city
of Khorsabad near Nineveh. The lock
found has been estimated to be around
704 BC old.
4. Introduction Of
Metallurgy in
Locksmithing
In 18th century after the Metallurgy was
adopted, Locksmiths were now able to
make more durable locks and keys.
New Design of Locks were also
introduced, which were more durable
and safer than before. People started
demanding for Metal Locks for better
security for their houses, safes and other
buildings.
5. Famous Locks
made in 18th
Century
In 18th Century many new locks were
deigned which changed the meaning of
Locks and Locksmithing.
Now here is the glimpse of few of the
Locksmith who really challenged the the
way the Locks were made and were very
durable and tough to break-in.
6. Locksmiths Of 18th
Century:
Joseph Bramah
In 1784, Joseph Bramah made Bramah Locks,
the one of the very first and best locks ever
known.
He threw an open challenge to open break his
lock. For 67 years nobody was able to break the
lock, until in 1851, an Americal Locksmith did it,
but it took him 51 hours (in 16 days) to open his
Lock.
7. Locksmiths Of 18th
Century:
Jeremiah Chubb
Inventor of first of its kind of lock, which detects if
someone is trying to break in the lock, it will jam
itself.
The lock mechanism was so made that if
someone tried to break the, and touch the
special lever it will jam the whole process, and
will not open until the original or special Master
key is used to unlock in other direction.
8. Locksmiths Of 18th
Century:
James Sargent
The First one to introduce a Combination Lock.
This Lock was also widely used as Safe locks. He
started manufacturing locks under the company
name S&G Locks, and are still selling their
products through various associated Distributors.
9. Locksmiths Of 18th
Century:
Samuel Segal
It’s when a police officer thought of
protecting its people from thieves. Samuel
Segal invented a lock which was tough
enough to be broken by any thief.
10. Locksmiths Of 18th
Century:
Harry Soref
Inventor of very first PadLock. He wanted to
make an affordable Lock which is not just
handy and easy to use but is also hard to
break.
So every-time you lock your door with an
handy lock say thanks to Harry Soref.
