LOCATION {MAIN THEATERS OF WWII)
WWII was fought all over the world. The Atlantic, Pacific,
N Africa, Western Europe to Eastern Europe, Norway,
Chine, South East Asia & the Middle East. WWII most
concentrated parts were Eastern/Western Europe, Asia
and parts of Africa.
EUROPE THEATER (AREA)
Germany invaded, or
you could say
‘occupied’ a collection
of countries: France,
Poland, Denmark,
Norway,
Czechoslovakia,
Yugoslavia, Belgium,
Netherlands, Greece,
& The Soviet Union.
The Western Front
were France and the
low countries, while
the Eastern Front were
Poland, Russia & the
Balkans.
Eastern Front
After the fall of Poland and
France, Hitler decided to
Invade Russia, which was
Also know as ‘Operation
Barbarossa’ in the summer
Of 1941.
Operation Barbarossa was
known as Hitler’s biggest
mistake/blunder as
Germany was defeated
later in 1943.
North Africa
There were major battles
in North Africa between the
Italian and British Forces.
However, the Italians
lacked any sort of
weaponry to defend
themselves against the
British Army tanks and
guns. The Italian force was
almost pushed out, until
General Rommel, the
German Field Marshal,
commanded to send out
reinforcement.
The British, with the help of
American army, still
managed to defeat the Axis
Powers in NA.
Pacific Theatre
The Pacific Theatre was
fought between South-East
Asia countries, and Pacific
islands such as Hawaii.
There was fierce fighting on
Pacific islands and major
naval battles at sea. Japan
wanted to control Asia and the
Pacific. In 1937 Japan
invaded China and bombed
the naval base in Pearl
Harbor, which caused the US
to join WWII.
