‘MENTAL INSTITUTION

                                                 maths corridor

As inspiration for our locations, we used Google images to search for
images that were similar to the ideas we had in our minds as a group.
When we had found several images, we chose the best one and
attempted to create a location similar to that in the photograph. The image
on the left is what we decided on after searching Google Images. We then
created a similar photograph which is shown on the right.

             Lights on Lights off

Location: St. Anne’s school maths corridor
To experiment with lighting, we took images with the lights on and off to
see which would look better. As we initially thought, the location looks
better and suits our movie opening more when the lights are off.
THE TOILET

                 Location:
St.Anne’s school toilet Source: Google Images

This angle will need to be used in Shot four along with this location. This
is why we experimented taking an image of the location with a person
standing there, to ensure that we include the correct angle when filming
and to make sure that the video camera is not seen whilst filming
through the mirror. A similar experiment was done using a video camera
which is also uploaded on our blogs. Shot four is similar to the
photograph featured on the right when the main character looks into the
mirror and sees her Dad appear. This is why we chose the image on the
right as an example. However, the facial expression of the character will
be different to the character shown in the image of the right.
DOORS

Location: St. Anne’s toilet doors Location: St. Anne’s corridor double doors

Doors are used in shot sever as the character runs out of the
toilets. At first, we decided to film the character running out of the
toilets and use the actual toilet doors. However, due to a problem
that occurred when filming (described in the filming diary), we were
unable to use this door and therefore had to use the door pictured
 on the right.

Location: St. Anne’s school toilet doors

We took multiple images of both doors
to get a variety of angles and also to
                                                            Open
distinguish between the doors when
they’re opened and closed.
