We have chosen to film our
film opening in the front room
of a typical suburban house in
South London. We have
chosen this because it is a
place that we can easily film
in as it is inside and therefore
not affected by weather, and
we can easily bring in extra
equipment such as lights
tripods. We also chose this
location as the setting
because it fits in well with the
convention of crime dramas
taking place in normal
houses, which the
audience can easily relate to, as well as cities, which are seen as busy
and more dangerous than quaint countryside. This room has large
windows and light coloured walls, which will allow us to film in natural
light, and make our film opening seem higher quality. Despite the use
of only one setting, we will use a wide range of camera angles and
shot types in order to make sure that our film opening is interesting
and engaging, and creates an appropriate mise-en-scene for the
genre.
