step mother. They found
her dead on the same day
she was 65. She was hit
with a hatchet about 19
times

3. They suspected that either Lizzie or the maid Bridget
Sullivan
A couple Days after the bodies are found Lizzie Borden is
arrested.
• They realized that Lizzie had much to gain from her
fathers death
• Lizzie didn’t like the fact that her father remarried
• Lizzie burned a dressed that was often ruined during
"house work"
• This is the dress that she was wearing the day of the murder

4. • The Hatchet that they found had no handle
• Abby and Andrew Borden's Skull was brought to
the court.
• There was nothing that could connect Lizzie to anything
that they found. Of course she was in the house when
the murder happened she lived there.
• Lizzie was found NOT Guilty

5. She returned to Fall river and her and her sister
bought a house, attended plays and lived their until
her death at 67 in 1927
