For food, he plans to buy inexpensive dry goods like noodles and pasta from Walmart for $50. He also allocates $20 for a pay-as-you-go phone plan, and $40-50 for activities like movies to stay entertained for the month. While tight, he believes $500 should be enough to cover his basic costs of living for one month without a job.

2. Scenario
I
just received notice from my boss that
I’ve been fired from my job, and I’m
being sent my last and final check of 500
bucks. I asked my family members but
they cant give me any money so it looks
like I’m going to have to fend off
500bucks for the month. I cant find
another job right now either.

3. Things I need to pay for
 Bills
for the house (electricity water, etc.)
 A new phone
 Food for the month
 Activities (such as movies bar and arcade
etc.)
 transportation (don’t have a car)
 Clothing
 Personal items (hygiene)

4. Food and Water

For food , I choose to buy from the local
popular super market (Wal-Mart). Dry
products such as noodles and Kraft dinner are
only 50 cents a meal. Buy 10 Kraft dinners and
10 noodles. Buy side snacks such as granola
bars which for 3 packets I can get for roughly
6 dollars. Buying meats would cost me around
on the minimum 15 dollars. Then a loaf of
bread. Then buy a pack of water bottles. 24
pack is around 9.30 .spending at around
almost 50 dollars at the bare minimum.

5. A New phone plan
 I’m
planning on using the pay as you go
plan with telus, for 20 dollars a month,
because its cheap and all I would really
need for the month.

6. Activities
I
have about 40 to 50 bucks to spend on
say going to the movies or going to the
pool to keep me entertained for the
month. If I want to do anything else for the
month then I’m sure I could go 10 or 20
bucks over and still be financially
comfortable .
