- A few words about myself. Came to LP at 2011. Though you can’t unsee this, I hope you will absorb some of the next slides. In my hand I hold a sword.
- Hattori Hanzō sword Excellent tools and products that do one things. Well built tool. They don’t improve the people beyond mastering the tool. Rapid growth. No time to mess around.
- The products we used were expensive of course. They limit your hiring fabric.
- While our tools were great, we had few products. Each of them was huge. “delivered from heaven above” Upgrading each component was complicated, cause if you’d look inside...
- Cern. The most complicated machines in the world.
- To fix things, we constantly needed superheroes.
- Everybody fears change. Especially when you’re a SaaS
- dropped off closed boxes containing the tablets, taped shut, with no instruction. “I thought the kids would play with the boxes. 4 Mins one kid not only opened the box, found the on-off switch … powered it up. 5 days, they were using 47 apps per child, per day. 5 months, they had hacked Android,” Negroponte said. “ Some idiot in our organization or in the Media Lab had disabled the camera, and they figured out the camera, and had hacked Android.”
