The document discusses conventions used in the teaser trailer, poster, and magazine cover for the film project "Flat 39". For the teaser trailer, influences from films like "Shutter Island" and "The Last Exorcism" were used, including fluctuating pace, point-of-view shots, and absence of lighting. The target audience is males and females aged 15+ due to complex themes. Camerawork, typography, sounds, and visuals are used to attract this audience. The poster and magazine cover also attract through the use of conventions like dominant images and colors to portray the two personalities of the young female protagonist.
The document discusses different color combinations for a magazine and evaluates their suitability. It dismisses aqua, grey and dark blue as too pale. It also rejects dark red, black and dark blue as too similar and dark, making text hard to read. The author likes dark red, dark blue and grey but not the red. Black, dark red and grey are also considered but the grey is deemed too dark. The document concludes that black, dark red and white is the perfect combination as it ranges from very dark to dark and colorful while allowing the dark colors to stand out with the white.
This document outlines the schedule and deadlines for a student magazine project from January to July 2011. It includes preliminary tasks in January, research and planning deadlines in early February, photography shoots in mid-February including a trip to Venice, work on design elements like the front cover and contents page through late February and March, and evaluations and presentations in late March and early April with a portfolio deadline on April 3rd.
The document discusses plans for a photo shoot to promote an indie/skater magazine. It describes choosing an alley location for the first shoot to give images an edgy feel and symbolize the close bond between the three band members. It then introduces the three models - Alice Jackson, Lucy Culshaw, and Lotte Dobeni - and the props each will use. A second location, a park, is chosen for another shoot after the first location's dark images did not provide a suitable cover photo. The photographer decides to let the models pose casually without direction for more natural expressions that better portray the band's personality.
This document provides a template for laying out an article with a headline overlapping the main image at the top, followed by a short introduction in larger font. The main body of the article is organized into multiple columns of text, interspersed with quotes from the text highlighted in bold.
From analyzing front covers, contents pages, and double page spreads of music magazines, the student learned:
1) Front covers typically use 3 main colors and feature one large main image of the featured artist, along with smaller images and listings of other artists.
2) Contents pages include the magazine masthead, a central image different from the front cover, and column listings of artists and page references.
3) Double page spreads commonly employ different colors than the front cover for variety, include one large central image filling most of the pages, and some smaller supporting images in or near the headline and text.
I have been taking photographs as a hobby for the past 5 years. During that time, I have captured many memorable moments with friends and family, from vacations to holidays to everyday moments. My collection now includes over 1,000 photos that remind me of special times in my life that I want to look back on and enjoy for years to come.

This double page spread from NME focuses on an interview with singer Lily Allen. The headline is a quote from Allen that captures the reader's interest. Her black and white photo shows a serious expression. The text is in eye-catching black and white against the red of her top. A summary promises an honest, direct interview. The article uses capital letters and the writer's name is in red like Allen's, showing their importance. Overall, the layout prioritizes the interview content over visuals to engage readers.
Shotgun Romance, an all-girl band from Oxford, England, has held the #1 spot on music charts for 9 weeks with their album "This is the Modern Waste". In an exclusive interview, the band members downplay their success, with guitarist Lotte Dobeni saying "we try not to let [the stardom] bother us" and focus on the music. Drummer Alice Jackson jokes about neighbors complaining over the loud drum solos during album production. Lead singer Lucy Culshaw echoes that sentiment, saying "we're just three kids who play music. I don't get what all the fuss is about."
This document lists three races from the StarCraft universe: Terran, Protoss, and Zerg. It does not provide any additional details about these races beyond their names.

THE SACRIFICE HOW PRO-PALESTINE PROTESTS STUDENTS ARE SACRIFICING TO CHANGE T...indexPub
The recent surge in pro-Palestine student activism has prompted significant responses from universities, ranging from negotiations and divestment commitments to increased transparency about investments in companies supporting the war on Gaza. This activism has led to the cessation of student encampments but also highlighted the substantial sacrifices made by students, including academic disruptions and personal risks. The primary drivers of these protests are poor university administration, lack of transparency, and inadequate communication between officials and students. This study examines the profound emotional, psychological, and professional impacts on students engaged in pro-Palestine protests, focusing on Generation Z's (Gen-Z) activism dynamics. This paper explores the significant sacrifices made by these students and even the professors supporting the pro-Palestine movement, with a focus on recent global movements. Through an in-depth analysis of printed and electronic media, the study examines the impacts of these sacrifices on the academic and personal lives of those involved. The paper highlights examples from various universities, demonstrating student activism's long-term and short-term effects, including disciplinary actions, social backlash, and career implications. The researchers also explore the broader implications of student sacrifices. The findings reveal that these sacrifices are driven by a profound commitment to justice and human rights, and are influenced by the increasing availability of information, peer interactions, and personal convictions. The study also discusses the broader implications of this activism, comparing it to historical precedents and assessing its potential to influence policy and public opinion. The emotional and psychological toll on student activists is significant, but their sense of purpose and community support mitigates some of these challenges. However, the researchers call for acknowledging the broader Impact of these sacrifices on the future global movement of FreePalestine.

Temple of Asclepius in Thrace. Excavation resultsKrassimira Luka
The temple and the sanctuary around were dedicated to Asklepios Zmidrenus. This name has been known since 1875 when an inscription dedicated to him was discovered in Rome. The inscription is dated in 227 AD and was left by soldiers originating from the city of Philippopolis (modern Plovdiv).
