Companies that had an appraisal experience in the past using CMMI-DEV as reference model, may have left out of the scope an important part of the company, related with services delivery. During a multiple model appraisal, additional business areas such as consultancy services, software maintenance or IT management services may also be included in the organizational scope, thus reducing the effort and cost of multiple appraisals.
This presentation, delivered by Caelum in the recent CMMI Portugal Conference, gives us some insight into issues to consider in a multimodel appraisal and how to save up to 42% of effort if we perform a multiple model SCAMPI appraisal instead of two separate single model appraisals.

A multiple model appraisal using both CMMI for Development and CMMI for Services can reduce costs compared to conducting separate appraisals for each model. By including both development and services processes and basic units within the same organizational scope, effort is reduced. However, objective evidence must demonstrate implementation of practices from both the development and services perspective for each basic unit. Having appraisal team members experienced with both models helps ensure accurate evaluation. Significant cost savings of 30-40% can be achieved with a multiple model appraisal compared to separate single model appraisals.

IRJET- Agile Management in Construction IndustryIRJET Journal
This document discusses agile project management (APM) and its potential benefits for the construction industry. It begins with an abstract that outlines how APM originated in the software industry to address changing requirements, and may provide benefits to the construction industry which also struggles with project management. The document then provides details on APM methodology, comparing it to traditional project management. Key aspects of APM include short iterative cycles, prioritizing requirements, collaborative teams, and flexibility to change requirements between iterations. The document suggests APM may improve outcomes for the construction industry by allowing for more adaptive management of changing needs.
The document discusses trends in outsourcing models moving from cost-focused to collaborative models that aim to provide business value and competitive advantage. It argues that traditional ticket-based pricing models do not incentivize quality, and that outsourcing providers should be responsible for ensuring defect-free applications and business outcomes rather than just fixing tickets. The document advocates for an outcome-based model where providers are paid based on achieving business metrics and key results rather than activities.
Six sigma and PMP: How can they help you togethere?Ashish Michael
This is idea of combining both Six Sigma and PMP came to me after working for nearly 5 years in Quality and Manufacturing functions of a balanced matrix organization(PMBOK). I always see Project Management not as something of future but present. So what is next, we have seen how Six Sigma brings a giant leap in quality but the problem with Six Sigma is that it is am operational tool for quality improvement. How to bring this provem concept into a project was a big challenge.
We know project is a one time activity and so we can say for design of product (DFSS), I tried to relate DFSS (Design for six sigma) with a projectized approach. And this was what I was able make. Its like a fusion, I thought this will be intresting and hence thought of sharing this “Theory” with you.
Introduction Of Six Sigma for IT & BPO by Vision RavalVision Raval
Six Sigma is a methodology that companies use to reduce defects in processes and improve quality. It involves defining, measuring, analyzing, improving, and controlling processes to achieve a goal of 3.4 defects per million opportunities. Implementing Six Sigma involves establishing leadership commitment, forming a core team, providing training, defining goals and processes, identifying performance gaps, defining improvement projects, and establishing performance measures and incentives. The process flow includes establishing leadership and a core team, training, conducting periodic reviews, defining goals and current performance, identifying gaps, defining improvement projects, and creating an incentive system to drive implementation.

[OReilly Superstream] Occupy the Space: A grassroots guide to engineering (an...Jason Yip
The typical problem in product engineering is not bad strategy, so much as “no strategy”. This leads to confusion, lack of motivation, and incoherent action. The next time you look for a strategy and find an empty space, instead of waiting for it to be filled, I will show you how to fill it in yourself. If you’re wrong, it forces a correction. If you’re right, it helps create focus. I’ll share how I’ve approached this in the past, both what works and lessons for what didn’t work so well.

Chris Jones, Director of Product Management at BrainChip , presents the “Temporal Event Neural Networks: A More Efficient Alternative to the Transformer” tutorial at the May 2024 Embedded Vision Summit.
The expansion of AI services necessitates enhanced computational capabilities on edge devices. Temporal Event Neural Networks (TENNs), developed by BrainChip, represent a novel and highly efficient state-space network. TENNs demonstrate exceptional proficiency in handling multi-dimensional streaming data, facilitating advancements in object detection, action recognition, speech enhancement and language model/sequence generation. Through the utilization of polynomial-based continuous convolutions, TENNs streamline models, expedite training processes and significantly diminish memory requirements, achieving notable reductions of up to 50x in parameters and 5,000x in energy consumption compared to prevailing methodologies like transformers.
Integration with BrainChip’s Akida neuromorphic hardware IP further enhances TENNs’ capabilities, enabling the realization of highly capable, portable and passively cooled edge devices. This presentation delves into the technical innovations underlying TENNs, presents real-world benchmarks, and elucidates how this cutting-edge approach is positioned to revolutionize edge AI across diverse applications.
