Was in a five star hotel and had towels all over the hotel room.
Second time came across a clean worn out towel.
Thought about a solution: Hamper

4. CREATED PRODUCT AFTER RESEARCH
Went Directly to the Housekeeper
Spent two summers interviewing housekeepers from
upstate NY to Florida. Stayed at 3*, 4* and 5* hotels.
Same answers
Found the towels were put into a plastic bag in some
hotels and in carts in others. Found some hotels tried
some sort of hamper but it wasn’t successful.
I asked Lots of Questions

5. 3 SIGNIFICANT ISSUES
1. UsedTowels in hotel rooms are put on the floor which
is counter to what we do at home.
2. Used towels are found worn out by the staff. The loss
with regards to abused inventory from each
establishment to replace these towels is significant.
3. Housekeeping staff time off of work from bending and
lifting.

6. CONTINUED MY INVESTIGATIONS
1. Went Directly to the HR Dept –When the housekeeper
talked about time away from work – I thought of insurance
claims.
2. Went to Risk Management – when the housekeeper talked
about risk of wet towels on floor – I thought of risks.
3. Went to the Finance Dept – I saw worn out towels,
I asked about inventory spending.
