Social Media comes in all shapes and sizes, but the best part is that social media is free.  It is the viral spread of information through fans, partners, friends, tweeps, video, blogs..the list is long.  Social media has taken on a whole new meaning since its inception in 1997. What began as a way to meet people online and stay in touch with old friends has grown to include business marketing, customer service, and reputation management.

  5. Using hashtags on Twitter is a great way to join an existing conversation and make your tweets more discoverable.A hashtag is a word or phrase (no spaces) that starts with #. When you click on a hashtag in Twitter, it reveals all the tweets marked with that hashtag.

Cyberbullying is when a child, preteen or teen is tormented, threatened, harassed, humiliated, embarrassed or otherwise targeted by another child, preteen or teen using the Internet, interactive and digital technologies or mobile phones. It has to have a minor on both sides, or at least have been instigated by a minor against another minor. Once adults become involved, it is plain and simple cyber-harassment or cyberstalking. Adult cyber-harassment or cyberstalking is NEVER called cyberbullying.

Tell someone you trustReport - Facebook's abuse policy allows your child to report cyberbullying, impersonation, threats, or hate pages. Teach him how to report cyberbullying by hitting “block/report” and selecting the appropriate details on the offending person's Wall.
