The owner brought their dog to the veterinary clinic complaining of diarrhea with a greenish tinge, loss of appetite, and occasional vomiting for the past 5 days. The veterinarian examined the dog and observed limping in its left hind leg. Through a fecal smear and rapid test, the veterinarian determined the dog had giardiasis based on the presence of pear-shaped trophozoites and motile cysts in its stool. The veterinarian prescribed fenbendazole and dextrose powder for 7 days and advised limiting contact with other dogs to prevent further spread of giardia cysts. The dog's symptoms improved after 4 days of treatment.

Valley 24 Hour Pet Grooming and Veterinary Services
C5 MRT Animal Clinics complaining that her dog was
experiencing diarrhea with greenish tinge, inappetence
and occasional vomiting.

General appearance: Clean coat, no asymmetry observed
Body condition: BCS 4 - Ideal
Mentation: Responds when touched but listless
Posture and gait: There is limping in her left hind leg
Hydration: Adequately hydrated, Skin tent is 1-2 seconds
Additional observations: Have scratches in her udder, No
unusual discharge from the body, Normal CRT at 1-2
seconds

o Owner was advised to stop Pampam’s contact with the
neighbor’s dog and to be regularly bathed
o Follow up check-up: March 27 but was brought April 6

11. VIII. DISCUSSION OF THE CASE/DEFINITIVE DIAGNOSIS
o Owner prevented Pampam’s contact with neighbor’s dog by
raising their fence
o Pampam’s contact with her pups were limited
oPampam’s feces improved and became solid 4 days after she
started her medication
o She’s active and playful
