Big cycling changes in a small town – Maciej Lubaśveloforum
In the small town of Świdnik in Poland, cycling infrastructure and education programs have been developed in response to the large number of children - between 75 to 150 - who commute by bicycle to local schools. Key initiatives included the establishment of the first bike lanes in the city through a collaborative process between cyclists, urban politicians, and city officials. The town has also started cycling education programs in every school, as well as practical lessons on safe cycling practices for young people on city streets. Bike sharing and shelters have also been implemented to further encourage cycling in Świdnik.

The document discusses digital media marketing and social media. It notes that social media is more about sociology and psychology than technology. It introduces Dominick Bonny, the owner of a digital media company, and discusses some basics of digital media marketing like focusing on owned media and understanding your audience. It also discusses choosing the right tools, creating advocates for brands, and why digital media marketing matters in today's technology-focused world.
Social media is a key way for businesses to connect with customers. There are three keys to successful social media marketing: create quality content, be consistent in posting, and provide novel content that may go viral. Content is the most important aspect of social media marketing - businesses must find their target audience and provide quality content that connects with that tribe. A social media strategy should determine goals, target audiences, relevant platforms, budget, and how online and offline marketing can converge. Popular social media platforms for business include Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, and LinkedIn, with each having strengths for different types of businesses and audiences.
This document provides guidance on developing an effective social media marketing strategy and content plan. It recommends businesses first understand their customers, core values, goals and current marketing. It then suggests choosing social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter and Instagram and creating a content schedule with varied types of posts at least five days a week. Example templates and resources for scheduling posts in advance are also included. Specific tips are provided for different channels and how to leverage hashtags, reviews and video content.

QR codes provide a cost-effective way for museums to connect physical exhibits with additional online content. QR codes are visual representations that link to webpages or files when scanned by a smartphone. While initially used more in Japan and the UK, their use is growing in the US as more people use smartphones. Museums can generate QR codes to provide audio, images, or other supplemental information for exhibits without much cost. This allows them to enhance the visitor experience in a low-cost manner.
This document discusses key criteria for developing a valid test, including ensuring test items match instructional objectives and emphasis, including enough items to adequately measure objectives, achieving scorer agreement, having an appropriate difficulty level to differentiate performance, reliability in scoring, fairness for all test takers, providing sufficient time, and an absence of bias.
Study: The Future of VR, AR and Self-Driving CarsLinkedIn
We asked LinkedIn members worldwide about their levels of interest in the latest wave of technology: whether they’re using wearables, and whether they intend to buy self-driving cars and VR headsets as they become available. We asked them too about their attitudes to technology and to the growing role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the devices that they use. The answers were fascinating – and in many cases, surprising.
This SlideShare explores the full results of this study, including detailed market-by-market breakdowns of intention levels for each technology – and how attitudes change with age, location and seniority level. If you’re marketing a tech brand – or planning to use VR and wearables to reach a professional audience – then these are insights you won’t want to miss.
Rotary has helped electrify schools in Africa through solar power installations. In August 2015 only 4 schools in Uganda were electrified, but by January 2018 that number had grown to 18 schools due to Rotary's efforts. The goal is to electrify 50 schools by 2025. One such project, called Solarize Uganda Now, provides stable, safe power to schools which allows for expanded study hours. This benefits the estimated 50% of Uganda's population that is under 15. Rotary projects invest in the local economy by training and hiring local workers and supporting sustainability.

With support from donors, a new library classroom was constructed and equipped with books, laptop computers, and other resources. Additional funding is being sought to build nine new classrooms, install a village water well, and establish boarding facilities to make the school more sustainable and able to serve students from outside the local area.
