MANAGING WEB SERVICES COMMUNITIES: A CACHE FOR QUERIES OPTIMISATIONijwscjournal
With the advance of Web Services technologies and the mergence of Web Services into the information space, tremendous opportunities for empowering users and organizations appear in various application domains including electronic commerce, travel, intelligence information gathering and analysis, health care, digital government, etc. However, the technology to organize, search, integrate these Web Services
has not kept pace with the rapid growth of the available information space. The number of Web Services to be integrated may be large and continuously changing. The ubiquitous need for Web Services integration across heterogeneous information sources pushed Web Services providers to join each others into Web Services Communities.
Different approaches related to the specification, management and querying of a community were proposed. Whoever, current approaches for managing and querying Web Services Communities’ lack of a general formal and clear design. Hence, we propose a framewok which enables the community management then allows community members to share reusable fragments of kow-how in order to optimize query processing among communities .To demonstrate the viability of our approach, we propose a health care community infrastructure for supporting a community management and querying as well as a prototype application that utilizes communities.

Web 2.0: It's Whole New Internet (from 2005)Jim Cuene
This is a REALLY old deck. But, i'm proud that i was pushing for a new, more networked way of thinking back in 2005. This deck has been re-used by a bunch of people over the years to help get across the difference between the "old" web, and Web 2.0. It's probably time to do another version for what's coming next.
This presentation was provided by Michael Roberts of Emerald Group Publishing during the NISO event, Enabling Discovery, Part One: Publishers and Libraries Talk Metadata & Monographs, held on January 14, 2019.

The development of the CDC's Tracking Network has brought together grantees and stakeholders from all across the United States. To improve communication among these geographically dispersed participants, Web 2.0 technologies have been used.

Todd Carpenter, executive director, National Information Standards Organization.
The RA21 Project has been working for the past two years to improve the user experience of access to subscribed resources. After having reviewed some initial pilot technologies, RA21 is ready to roll out its recommended practice and launch an ongoing service to support user identity management and individual access to content. The project is now entering a new phase, in which interested parties will form a consortium to provide ongoing maintenance, outreach support, and governance to the effort moving forward. Todd discusses what RA21 has accomplished, demonstrate the service, and provide an update on what is next for RA21.

Kubernetes & AI - Beauty and the Beast !?! @KCD Istanbul 2024Tobias Schneck
As AI technology is pushing into IT I was wondering myself, as an “infrastructure container kubernetes guy”, how get this fancy AI technology get managed from an infrastructure operational view? Is it possible to apply our lovely cloud native principals as well? What benefit’s both technologies could bring to each other?
Let me take this questions and provide you a short journey through existing deployment models and use cases for AI software. On practical examples, we discuss what cloud/on-premise strategy we may need for applying it to our own infrastructure to get it to work from an enterprise perspective. I want to give an overview about infrastructure requirements and technologies, what could be beneficial or limiting your AI use cases in an enterprise environment. An interactive Demo will give you some insides, what approaches I got already working for real.

"Impact of front-end architecture on development cost", Viktor TurskyiFwdays
I have heard many times that architecture is not important for the front-end. Also, many times I have seen how developers implement features on the front-end just following the standard rules for a framework and think that this is enough to successfully launch the project, and then the project fails. How to prevent this and what approach to choose? I have launched dozens of complex projects and during the talk we will analyze which approaches have worked for me and which have not.
