Come possiamo cambiare?

This thesis is about the use of tools and softwares (Windows & Linux) at the forensic analysis of digital evidence. Also mentioned two scenarios of using those tools and quotations from the current greek legal framework about personal data.

State and local governments are exploring new ways to open their governments using technology to engage citizens, increase transparency and accountability. Such efforts provide new opportunities and challenges for public libraries as citizens turn to them for both access to and assistance in their interactions with government. Local open government efforts take place within defined geographically-bound communities that have an existing ecosystem of interrelated people, entities, practices, values, and information sources that supports community information needs. Libraries can have a critical influence on an ecosystem and the success of such an initiative. Find out more at http://imls.ctg.albany.edu/.
CTG developed a draft framework designed to help public libraries understand the roles they might play in fostering open government in their communities. The framework includes existing and potential initiatives that can support/foster Open Gov’t to help libraries decide which initiatives are most appropriate for a given community or will likely generate the most value for that community. Find out more at http://imls.ctg.albany.edu/.
Each year, the Nebraska Library Commission awards Continuing Education and Training Grants to Nebraska libraries to provide funding for staff to attend conferences and training sessions. In 2011, the NLC awarded grants to several librarians to attend the Public Library Association Conference in Philadelphia. Attend this session to learn more about the grants and to hear these librarians talk about their experiences at PLA.

Transitioning from an Academic Library to a Public LibraryAriel Hess
Switching from an academic library to a public library is a challenging transition due to the contrasting environments. The dynamics of the users in each entity are similar in the instance of the need for information but different in the request. There is a list of elements that I noticed during my transition from an academic library to a public library. I transition from a reference librarian position serving mostly adults to a youth services librarian position serving ages 0 to 18.

After two years in development, the Edge Initiative launched earlier this year and library leaders are already sharing how Edge has helped them connect with their local government officials, build community partnerships and align their strategic goals with community priorities. Join us to learn how using Edge will help you make strategic decisions about technology services and connect more closely with your community.
Edge, a professional management and leadership tool, gives libraries a look into their local data, from operations to partnerships and programming. It guides library leaders in assessing how their community is using technology and how to align future growth and services with community goals. It also provides useful resources to package and showcase the data to community leaders.
Presenters: Lourdes Aceves, Senior Program Manager, Edge Initiative and Dr. Molly Kinney, Mifflin County Library, Lewistown, PA.

Kansas City Public Library hosted the first Wikipedian in Residence (WiR) at a public library in the country. Explore what a WiR is, how WiRs collaborate with community members and GLAM institutions (Galleries, Libraries, Archives, and Museums), and why collaborations between Wikipedia and public libraries are mutually beneficial and have an impact.
Kim Gile, Director of Branch Services & Engagement, will reflect on the residency at KCPL and give an update on the Library’s Wikipedia journey that started in 2018.

A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

The French Revolution, which began in 1789, was a period of radical social and political upheaval in France. It marked the decline of absolute monarchies, the rise of secular and democratic republics, and the eventual rise of Napoleon Bonaparte. This revolutionary period is crucial in understanding the transition from feudalism to modernity in Europe.

• Monthly program on various legal topics-
Neighbor Law, Veterans Benefits, Landlord
Tenant, etc.
• Aimed at general public
• Advertised on local news sites, public libraries,
etc.
About me-interesting experience, I come from a PL background
Current role-work the reference desk, edit our monthly newsletter, handle CLE and public programs, manage stats and compile bi-weekly legal updates in various topic areas
Located in the Hamilton County Courthouse in downtown Cincinnati OH.
Subscription library, but are open to the public M-F 8am-4pm. Public is limited to onsite print access and some databases-HeinOnline, Fastcase, and EBSCO. Separate computer lab for subscribers for Lexis, West, CCH etc. @ computers in the main room with internet access, microsoft office etc.
Stats from LibAnalytics-Year to date. 31.9% of questions come from public patrons. Grown steadily over the years.
You may be feeling like Gus here and wondering what does this have to do with Libguides?
When we decided to use LibGuides, we decided to tailor the Libguides to public patrons rather than subscribers. Intended for the general public.
Page from Library wiki.
Internal wiki where we kept FAQs, Hot Topics, Blue Moon question
Useful-but limitations-not accessible to the public, all staff collaborated which was good but the problem is that thins were added in different places, multiple places etc.
Take this info and organize so it’s easy to find and access
Looked at other libraries using guides
Contacted them-Tamsen L. Conner
Main Page-Last library still using 1.0, but we are in the middle of the transition
Landlord Tenant Law-Most popular guide- 3496 views
Other-popular guides- Ohio Primary Law, Appeals, Foreclosure and Tech Tips
Started to get a lot of calls from people thinking we actually handled rent escrow in Hamilton County.
Aimed at general public-exception-Tech Tips Guide
Monthly newsletter we have feature called “Tech Tip” written by our Systems Librarian Julie Koehne-some are general info, like printing to our printers from a mobile device, but most are database specific.
Libguide puts all in one place so staff has ready access to them.
Overwhelming
How we did it:
Started with idea that it would be for public patrons
List of topics
Point person-me, but all ref staff authored guides.
Next steps. Did not add DB info since they are not available remotely. Add info regarding resources available in the library.
