The Lake Forest/Lake Bluff Community Taskforce was created in May 2012 to address the suicides of three Lake Forest High School students who stepped in front of trains within a few months of each other. The taskforce's mission is to prevent teen suicide and online bullying by educating parents, students, educators, and the community on responsible social media use. The social media proposal outlines utilizing Facebook, Twitter, Google+, and Meetup.com to create an online community that discusses teen suicide and bullying, monitors for related posts and trends, advertises support meetings, and becomes the preferred online meeting place in the Lake Forest and Lake Bluff area. The proposal details how each platform would be used to engage the community and spread information
