Summary
Electric racecars (including hybrids in EV mode) energized from the track itself while in
motion create excitement with drivers jockeying for both the lead and optimal charging
positions to maintain power to complete long distance races without long recharging times .

Electric racecars on a track using power transference technology implemented in the USA by
OLEV Technologies, receive wireless power from transmitters in the roadway itself. Cars
equipped to receive this power are able to use smaller, lighter batteries and are able to keep
racing for longer periods than stock EVs .

Instead of refueling in pit stops, two or more lanes contain segments for dynamic power
transfer when cars pass over them. Racing strategy requires drivers must be able to balance
leading the race before running low of battery power and having to enter the charging lane.

LexevTM LLC will offer motorsports that appeal to environmental sensibilities, yet
with the same sports excitement as at any race powered by conventional fuel-
burning engines. Communities like the Silicon Valley / San Francisco Bay area of
California are enthusiastic for electric vehicles and would embrace EV racing .The
proposed raceway is planned for a location approximately 50 miles away that
already hosts wind farms. The speedway will be built to run on renewable energy
with absolutely zero emissions. Professional race car drivers make optimal
power pickup part of their driving strategy by watching a power meter to center
cars in the energy lane like drivers on the OLEV buses in South Korea
(http://www.greencarcongress.com/2013/08/kaist-20130808.html).

Most automobile racing in the USA takes place on speedways under a mile in length. Some
NASCAR superspeedways have ¼ to ½ mile long tracks (the track shown below has both) for
weekly racing of stock and Legend Cars. These smaller, lighter racecars have a maximum of
140hp (approximately 100kW) capable of top speeds over 100mph.

An existing track in California has expressed interest in converting to the Lexev system in
order to deal with noise complaints that have caused cancellation of racing. Electric racing
cars run much quieter than equivalent fuel-burning cars. And if a fan misses the noise we
have an app for that. The app will augment audio privately in the user’s headphones to make
the cars sound as if they were using internal combustion, jet or even rocket engines.

Many speedways offer racing experiences where consumers can drive a racecar. EVs on a
magnetic-resonant speedway can be equipped with semi-automated controls and collision
avoidance to keep amateur drivers safe and maximize power transfer.

Roadway-powered electric vehicles with automated safe driving have been envisioned since
the 1950s (http://www.fhwa.dot.gov/publications/publicroads/94summer/p94su1.cfm). A
1958 episode of the Disneyland TV program showcased many of these concepts. The
speedway is a proving ground for highway improvements that will save energy and lives.
Hybrid cars would switch to emission-free electric mode when on the powered highway.
Financial Requirements:Financial Requirements:Financial Requirements:Financial Requirements:
A conservative estimate of $50,000,000 (subject to change) is required to purchase a site and
build the first electrified track and associated wind power facilities in the Silicon Valley / San
Francisco Bay area.
Another possibility mentioned earlier in this proposal is to electrify an existing speedway.
This would greatly reduce costs and construction requirements.
Goals and Objectives:Goals and Objectives:Goals and Objectives:Goals and Objectives:
Lexev Racing by Lexev LLC will provide an environmentally responsible motorsports venue.
Our initial objective is to generate revenues through product sponsorships, broadcast rights
and ticket sales, which can exceed $30,000,000 per year based upon an average price of $100
per ticket for 20,000 spectators for 15 races while building enthusiasm for safe, “green”
motorsports by showcasing clean renewable energy for electric vehicles and automated
highway safety technologies.
