- 1. 1550 Owens Store Road Canton, GA 30115 Date 4/18/12 Judges, Senior Project Creekview High School 1550 Owens Store Road Canton, GA 30115 Dear Judges: Hello, my name is Mitchell Banister and my senior project is an Internship that I had at the solicitor’s office. My main goal in life is to become an attorney and work for my uncle at his law firm in Tallahassee. I worked with solicitors which are Lawyers that work for the state and prosecute misdemeanors. My uncle works with a lot of different types of law and these are one if his “enemies”. Though not really enemies they are not friendly whenever they meet in the court room, some might say I was spying. My research paper and my product are not one. My research paper was over wrongful convictions in America. My Product was something that citizens between the ages of 17-21 will choose to go through if the commit a crime that has to do with Traffic, Marijuana, or Alcohol. My first product was going to be a case that I had worked on while I was with the Solicitors but they could not let me do that for legal reasons. I also couldn’t get pictures of the inside of the office and court room, the pictures of the inside of the office I had to beg for. I also didn’t get work release which severely limited my time with the solicitors. My research paper did however relate to a career I hope to have. One of the legal operations that my uncle runs is defense. He is kind of a hippie and in this department only wants to help people, he does this by offering low prices and only defends people he truly believes are innocent. I wanted to get an internship from a defense firm but being with the solicitors helped me a ton too. After doing this project I defiantly want to go on to become a lawyer and spend the next 7 years of my life working towards this. I’m glad that I had to do this project, it did put some unnecessary stress on an already stressful year but I think it was a taste of the real world. That being said I am very glad that I no long have to worry about this after presenting it to all of you. Thank you for your time and patience and for listening to my yearlong labor.
