SUBJECT: Recommendation for Glen Alasagas
DATE: February 18, 2006
I am pleased to recommend Glen Alasagas for a position at your company.
From November 2005 to now, Glen has been attending my Digitial Electronic
Communications class. He has learned the following topics:
a. Transmission line theory, including the use of a Smith Chart and a Vector
Network Analyzer (simulated) for impedance matching problems.
b. Spectrum analyzer, both physical and simulated, for complex AM, FM, and single
side band signals. He also learned to interpret the spectrogram displays for a Real
Time Spectrum Analyzer. This was used to troubleshoot simulated interference
problems in GSM and CDMA systems.
c. Path Design. His final lab project included a presentation, using software
provided by the Path Loss Company, to identify the optimum location and height
of antennas for VHF and microwave links. This included calculations of
diffraction losses and studying potential multi-path issues.
I have enjoyed having Glen in my class. I would be pleased to provide additional
information about my experiences with Glen. I can be reached in the following ways:
a. Cell phone: 253-797-0787
b. Email: davidshores@comcast.net
