A father wanted to teach his four sons not to judge things too quickly. He sent each son in a different season to look at a pear tree in the distance. The first son saw it as ugly in winter, the second saw buds and promise in spring, the third saw beautiful blossoms in summer, and the youngest saw ripe fruit in fall. The father explained that they were all right because each only saw one season, and a tree or person cannot be judged by one season alone but by all seasons together. The moral is not to let the pain of one season destroy the joy of the rest and not to judge life by only one difficult season.
