Lessons can be learned from geese flying in formation. Geese flying together create lift for each other and can travel farther than if flying alone. Staying in formation allows geese to benefit from the lift of the bird in front and accept help from others. When a goose falls out of formation it feels more resistance from flying alone, so it rejoins the formation. Geese also share leadership and encouragement, with the lead goose rotating out of the front periodically and the flock honking to encourage those in front to keep up speed. Geese support each other, with two birds dropping out to help any sick or injured goose until it can fly again.
