Janzen hui lo2 standing waves
Standing waves can be described by the equation D(x,t) = 2A sin(kx) cos (ωt). Nodes occur where the amplitude is zero and antinodes where it is maximum. On a vibrating string, the wavelength is determined by the length of the string and tension. The fundamental frequency produces the longest wavelength with no nodes. Higher harmonics have shorter wavelengths and more nodes. Examples calculate the frequency of a guitar string at different tensions and lengths of the standing wave where the amplitude is a given value.

Bitsbox Adventure is a short story by Steve Sherman. The story follows a young boy named Timmy who receives a mysterious box for his birthday filled with colorful blocks and gears. Timmy spends the day playing with the blocks, fitting them together in different configurations and discovering how they interact. Through experimenting with the blocks, Timmy learns basic engineering and puzzle-solving skills.

2) To help a friend with acrophobia, the author decides to take a small plane ride but learns of the dangers of mountain waves first.

The goal is to practice different image adjustment tools to manipulate layers of an iris photograph.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

- 1. Lessons 5+ FINISHING TYNKER AND MIGRATING TO SCRATCH
- 2. So far in this unit We practiced some programming logics at code.org We followed some tutorials at tynker.com to learn how to use the blogs for freer programming.
- 3. Next steps Finish the Tynker lessons (there’s a new one) Go to scratch.mit.edu, create an account and check what other students have created. Scratch Works exactly like tynker, but has more tutorials and how-to vídeos available.
- 4. Final Project Start planning (and creating) your final project. It should be an interactive animation (or a game) illustrating a topic you have seen in school this semester. It’s ok if you create your own background and sprites using Photoshop and Illustrator. Rubrics will be available next class.
