This document summarizes a mathematics lesson plan for 8th standard students on polygons. The lesson introduces polygons of different sides and teaches students to determine the sum of interior angles in any polygon. Through hands-on activities with paper cutouts of polygons, students learn that the sum of angles in an n-sided polygon is (n-2)×180. They practice this formula to find sums of angles in polygons with any number of sides. The lesson concludes by having students apply their understanding to solve problems without concrete examples.

Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.
2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

Embracing GenAI - A Strategic ImperativePeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

Synthetic Fiber Construction in lab .pptxPavel ( NSTU)
Synthetic fiber production is a fascinating and complex field that blends chemistry, engineering, and environmental science. By understanding these aspects, students can gain a comprehensive view of synthetic fiber production, its impact on society and the environment, and the potential for future innovations. Synthetic fibers play a crucial role in modern society, impacting various aspects of daily life, industry, and the environment. ynthetic fibers are integral to modern life, offering a range of benefits from cost-effectiveness and versatility to innovative applications and performance characteristics. While they pose environmental challenges, ongoing research and development aim to create more sustainable and eco-friendly alternatives. Understanding the importance of synthetic fibers helps in appreciating their role in the economy, industry, and daily life, while also emphasizing the need for sustainable practices and innovation.

Subject : MATHEMATICS
Unit : POLYGONS
Subunit : SUM OF ANGLES OF
A POLYGON
Name of the school :ST . STEPHENS HSS
Standard : VIII
Strength : 38/40
Date : 7/08/2015
Time :40 MIN
PREVIOUS KNOWLEDGE: Students have the knowledge on polygons and sum of angles in a triangle
is 180.
AIDS TO BE USED AS SUPPORT SYSTEM: Polygons having different sides, chart.
Teacher-Pupil activity Phases and their steps
Teacher test previous knowledge of pupil regarding
polygons.State the purpose of the lesson.
ACTIVITY 1
Teacher present a quadrilateral in a paper cut out :
let the pupil observe it. Teacher choose one vertex
in the quadrilateral and skip the next and and
choose the next vertex.Teacher fold it into two
parts. Pupil finds that there are two triangles. And
the sum of angles in a quadrilateral is the sum of
angles in two triangle and is 180+180=2x180=360.
ACTIVITY 2
Teacher shows a pentagon. Teacher first fold it as a
triangle and a quadrilateral.Again teacher fold the
quadrilateral as two triangles. And the sum of
angles is 180+108+180=3x180=540
ACTIVITY3
Teacher present a hexagon and follow the same
procedure above. Pupil finds that the sum of angles
is 720.
Teacher shows heptagon and octagon.
Then teacher tells:
Let us make a table and enter various details in it.
You observe each polygon, find sum of angles in
the polygon and enter values in the column of
table.

PHASE 1
CONCEPT FORMATION
TABULATE THE RESULT
2. Make pupil study the result are given above the
table. Then tell them these you find out by really
observing. Now can you give the details without
observing concrete cases.
Teacher asks : What will be the sum of angles in a
nonagon ?
Pupil composes the tabulated result and say 7 x
180 = 1260.
Teacher asks : What will be the sum of angles in a
10 sided polygon ?
Pupil answers that 8 x 180 =1440.
Teacher : Can you give the sum of angles in an n-
sided polygon ?
Pupil : (n - 2)x 180.
Teacher : What can you conclude from this ?
Pupil : The sum of angles in a polygon is the
product of number of triangles can be make in the
polygon and 180.
The sum of angles of an n-sided polygon is
(n - 2)x 180
Give the problem:
(i) What is the sum of angles in 12 sided
polygon ?
Sum of angles = (12-2)x180
= 10 x180
=1800
(ii) Is the sum of angles in any polygon
equal to 2700 ?
(n - 2)x 180 =2700
n-2 =2700/180
=15
n=17
