Renewed in Grace
The document discusses the meaning and message of the gospel. In Jesus' day, "gospel" meant an important message of "good news" proclaimed on behalf of a king. The basic gospel message is that all people are sinful and separated from God, but Jesus lived a perfect life, died on the cross to pay the penalty for sins, and rose from the dead to offer salvation to all who repent of their sins and put their faith in Him. To receive what Jesus did requires repenting from sin and believing in Him through faith in order to be restored to God and receive eternal life.
1) The document discusses the concept of atonement in the Bible, which refers to God's forgiveness of sins through the shedding of blood as a sacrifice.
2) It describes how Jesus fulfilled the Old Testament promises and requirements of atonement by becoming the final, perfect sacrifice as the "Lamb of God" to pay for the sins of humanity once and for all.
3) By placing faith in Jesus' death and resurrection, believers are justified - declared righteous - by God and forgiven of their sins as Jesus paid the penalty of death in their place through his sacrifice.
God calls the church to belong (connect to God and each other), grow (pursue discipleship), serve (be hands and feet of Jesus), and share (fulfill great commission). Each letter in these words points to an important biblical concept - BELONG focuses on baptism, exalting Christ, loving one another, unity, and new life in Spirit. GROW focuses on growing in grace, repentance, obedience, and letting God's word work in us. SERVE focuses on using our strengths, excelling, being a rewarding example of service and victory. SHARE focuses on seeking, harvesting, being ambassadors, rejoicing, and eternal life.
The document provides an overview of a 10-week foundation class course covering topics about the Christian faith. The schedule lists the dates, topics, and teachers for each class, including discussions on the new birth, the Godhead, the word, discipleship, prayer and fasting, and the second coming. The first class focuses on the new birth and being born again in Christ, contrasting mankind's state before and after accepting Christ.
1) The document discusses what our purpose and ambition should be based on scripture. It says our ambition on earth should be to please God and avoid his wrath and judgment after death.
2) It explains that sin brings God's punishment of death, and discusses how people wrongly try to pay for their sins through good works, obeying commandments, prayers, and sacrifices, rather than accepting God's solution.
3) God's solution is that Jesus, being sinless, took our sins and died in our place so we can be forgiven and made righteous through faith in him. The response required is to repent, which means turning from sin and trusting in Jesus.
The document provides an overview of systematic theology related to atonement, resurrection, and ascension. It discusses that through atonement, Jesus takes God's wrath for our sins and provides forgiveness. His resurrection validates Him as God's son and provides power for Christian living. His ascension prepares the way for the Holy Spirit and spiritual gifts at Pentecost.
A study on the doctrine of predestination as found in scripture and its many implications for the end time.
This document seeks to look at the scriptural teaching of predestination and where the completion of the purposes of predestination should be expected to be carried out. Clear pinpoint links between predestination, election, justification, sanctification and glorification presented. Prayerful reading required.
Reading time: Approximately 30 minutes.
Notes from teaching on the Trinity and salvation. In this class we are looking at the front view of the cross and specifically the words atonement, propitiation and justification.

Notes from teaching on the Trinity and salvation. In this class we are looking at the front view of the cross and specifically the words atonement, propitiation and justification.
This document discusses what it means to become a Christian. It explains that going to church does not make one a Christian, but that one must respond to Christ through repentance and faith. It outlines the gospel call, including explaining the facts of sin, death, and Jesus's sacrifice for sins. It emphasizes that believers are called to share the gospel with others, though it is God who makes the message effective. It also discusses justification as God declaring believers righteous through faith in Christ, rather than works, and adoption as believers becoming God's eternal children through salvation.
Baptism symbolizes repentance, submission to God's will, and being cleansed by Jesus' death and resurrection. It represents a commitment to living a new, righteous life. While baptism is an important act of faith, it does not alone ensure salvation. True salvation comes from repentance, living according to God's commands through the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. For those unable to be baptized due to age or circumstance, God judges based on the condition of one's heart.
The document provides an overview of a discipleship conference focused on recovering one's first love for Jesus, discovering the need for rest in God, and uncovering the path to reasonable service. It discusses how believers can lose their first love through sin, failure, pressures and living inauthentically. To regain love, one must rest in Jesus' finished work through faith. The first step of discipleship is recognizing one's complete need for Christ. Putting off the old self and being transformed requires resting in God's decrees of redemption and having a cleansed conscience through Christ. Good works prepared by God result from transformation and include caring for those in need.
The document discusses the topic of guilt from a Christian perspective. It makes three key points:
1) Feelings of guilt can be a blessing because they push us to seek forgiveness from God for our sins. However, some people sin so much that they become numb to feelings of guilt.
2) For Christians, the goal is to reach the kingdom of God, but sin prevents this. True repentance and turning to God in faith are needed to have sins wiped away.
3) When Christians feel guilty, they should confess their sins to God, ask Him to reveal any sins in their life, and remember that God has promised to forgive through the blood of Jesus Christ. False guilt from Satan can be
This is a study of how Jesus is our lawyer in the court of heaven, and because he has paid for our sin we gain through Him the freedom only He can provide.
Repentance is the first step in beginning a walk with God and is vital to maintaining that relationship. Repentance involves acknowledging one's sins and faults, resolving not to repeat offenses, and attempting to live according to God's teachings. It requires admitting guilt, making amends, and living a life that pleases God. While humans often justify sins based on circumstances, the Bible teaches that God does not condone sin in any form. True repentance involves understanding what displeases God, acknowledging one's sinful nature, repenting of sins, and seeking to live righteously according to God's will. Repentance is fundamental to having a relationship with God and finding redemption through faith in Jesus Christ.
Repentance is the first step in beginning a walk with God and is vital to maintaining that relationship. Repentance requires acknowledging one's sins and faults, resolving not to repeat offenses, and attempting to live according to God's teachings. It includes admitting guilt, making amends, and following God's word. While humans often justify sins, true repentance requires recognizing actions that displease God and refraining from such sins to restore our relationship with Him. Salvation comes through faith in Jesus Christ and his sacrifice, but one must confess and renounce sins to find mercy.
This document discusses the evangelical Christian worldview with a focus on redemption, church, and calling. It examines the basic doctrines of redemption including justification, propitiation, reconciliation, and regeneration. It defines the church as both the universal body of believers and the local congregation. The church's purpose is to spread the gospel message and various activities are discussed like worship, preaching, and sacraments. Finally, it addresses the Christian's calling to live for God's glory and serve others using their spiritual gifts within their vocations.
The document discusses the blessings and responsibilities of living according to the gospel. It says that living the gospel means living a life of continuous repentance and faith by preaching the gospel to yourself daily. True repentance deals with sins and their underlying causes, while false repentance only seeks temporary relief. The gospel transforms us from being spiritually dead, enslaved to sin, and under God's wrath, to being chosen, forgiven, and made alive in Christ.
This document discusses God's way of salvation according to the Bible. It outlines the five steps as: 1) Hearing the Word, 2) Believing the message, 3) Having an attitude of repentance, 4) Confessing surrender, and 5) Baptism in water. It provides biblical references to support each step. Examples of salvation are provided from Acts. False doctrines like infant baptism are addressed, noting that baptism requires faith while infants do not have faith.
It then explores how individuals can experience salvation through repentance, faith, justification and regeneration as they contemplate God's love and pardoning grace shown through Christ's death. Salvation radically changes the believer as it forgives all sin and grants them new life.
Predestination is one of the most widely taught doctrines in Calvinism. The biblical understanding of this passage reveals a much deeper underlying principle and a richer store of information than can be imagined.
God want's to do great things for us. A scripture based study into predestination reveals that God wants to glorify us. Allow the scriptures to open the pathway that God desires to bring us on.
The Quest for Holiness: In the Center of the Sanctifying Streamcogop4610
This document discusses the path to holiness in Christianity according to the Church of God of Prophecy. It describes the process as beginning with being drawn to God through faith in Jesus Christ, then being convicted of sin by the Holy Spirit. This leads to repentance, justification, and the "born again" experience of salvation. Christians are then called to ongoing sanctification through cooperating with the Holy Spirit. This involves overcoming sinful nature, bearing the fruit of the Spirit, and moving to the center of the sanctifying stream of holiness. Key biblical passages from Romans, Galatians, and writings of John Wesley and A.J. Tomlinson are referenced to explain these concepts.
1) Sin is defined as any thought or action that goes against God's commands and separates us from Him. All people sin and fall short of God's standards.
2) The punishment for sin is death, but God provided salvation through Jesus Christ. By believing in Jesus and repenting of sins, one can be forgiven and gain eternal life.
3) To gain salvation, one must acknowledge they are a sinner, accept Jesus as savior, repent of sins through a change in thoughts and actions, and seek to live according to God's teachings by reading the Bible. This path leads to being dead to sins and beginning a new life strengthened by one's spirituality.
The gospel is the good news that God has done to reach us through His effort to save us from our sins. It consists of: 1) The problem of sin which separates us from God; 2) The penalty of sin is death or eternal punishment in Hell; 3) The payment for sin was accomplished by Jesus' death on the cross to pay for our sins and resurrection to conquer sin and death; and 4) The decision of faith which is depending on Jesus alone to save us, not on self-effort or religious activities.
This document discusses the biblical definitions and concepts of repentance and faith. It defines repentance as a change of mind, heart, and actions that involves turning from sin and toward God. True repentance recognizes one's sin and need for God's forgiveness, agrees with God about deserving judgment, and lives according to repentance by submitting to God. Faith is defined as trusting in and embracing God through believing and relying on Him. The document emphasizes that repentance and faith, which involve surrendering to God and submitting to His truth and kingdom, are necessary for receiving salvation.
The document summarizes key points about God's plan of salvation according to the book of Revelation in the Bible. It explains that sin entered the world through Adam and Eve, bringing death, but God sent Jesus to die in our place and free us from sin and death. It calls this God's "everlasting gospel" or good news. It encourages accepting Jesus' sacrifice by believing, confessing sins, and letting Him be Lord of our lives in order to receive salvation, forgiveness and eternal life.

Renewed in Grace
The document discusses the history of interactions between the Jews and Greeks after Alexander the Great's conquests. Many young Jewish men were encouraged to study in Greek schools in Alexandria to gain knowledge, influence, and prestige. Over time, this led to a decline in spiritual influence as rabbinical teachings and traditions increased in importance. By the time of Christ, the Jews had lost sight of the spiritual meaning behind their rituals and ceremonies, instead focusing on outward compliance to numerous man-made traditions and laws. This legalism and hypocrisy had replaced a relationship with God.

Muladhara is the root centre of physical experience, located at the base of the spine, the sacral plexus. The square represents the earth itself, the four dimensions and the four directions. Four allows for completion, and earth embodies the elements and conditions for human completion on all levels.
Muladhara Chakra is the meeting place of the three main nadis: Ida, Pingala and Sushumna. The downward-pointing triangle indicates the downward movement of energy and the three main nadis.
The seed mantra is Lam, the yellow square represents the earth element. The Muladhara chakra governs the vital breath Apana. An inverted triangle in the centre of the square encloses the unmanifest Kundalini, represented as a snake wrapped in three and a half coils around the svayambhu (self born) linga. Because her mouth faces downward, the flow of energy is downward.
The opening at the entrance of the sushumna is called brahma-dvara, the door of Brahma, which is closed by the coils of the sleeping Kundalini. As soon as one begins working with Muladhara chakra, this dormant energy awakens, raises its head and flows freely into the channel of Sushumna, the central nerve canal that runs along the spine. These two aspects of the kundalini: sleeping and waking, are identified as her “poison” and her “nectar.” The kundalini is poison when she remains asleep in the lower abdomen; she is nectar when she rises up through Sushumna, the medial channel, to reunite with Siva, the Absolute, in the yogin’s cranial vault.
In the pericarp is found the presiding deity Brahma, the lord of creation. His skin is the color of wheat, he wears a yellow dhoti and a green scarf. Brahma is four-faced, four-armed, holding in his upper left hand a lotus flower, the symbol of purity.
PHASE-IV
The very deep experience of silence helps to expand from the 3 - dimensional awareness of the body to all pervasive awareness. The bed of silence becomes deeper and more expansive - an ocean of silence with waves on it merge into complete silence called Ajapa state of the mind. This silence is the source of Creativity, Power, Knowledge and Bliss.
PHASE V
From this deep ocean of silence in the heart region, let one OM emerge as an audible sound which diffuses into the entire body and the space all around. Enjoy the beautiful vibrations.
Blink the eyes slowly, gently open the eyes and come out of meditation.
Introduction
Mantra Yoga is an exact science. "Mananat trayate iti mantrah- by the Manana (constant thinking or recollection) of which one is protected or is released from the round of births and deaths, is Mantra." That is called Mantra by the meditation (Manana) on which the Jiva or the individual soul attains freedom from sin, enjoyment in heaven and final liberation, and by the aid of which it attains in full the fourfold fruit (Chaturvarga), i.e., Dharma, Artha, Kama and Moksha. A Mantra is so called because it is achieved by the mental process.

Lucid Dreaming: Understanding the Risks and Benefits
The ability to control one's dreams or for the dreamer to be aware that he or she is dreaming. This process, called lucid dreaming, has some potential risks as well as many fascinating benefits. However, many people are hesitant to try it initially for fear of the potential dangers. This article aims to clarify these concerns by exploring both the risks and benefits of lucid dreaming.
The Benefits of Lucid Dreaming
Lucid dreaming allows a person to take control of their dream world, helping them overcome their fears and eliminate nightmares. This technique is particularly useful for mental health. By taking control of their dreams, individuals can face challenging scenarios in a controlled environment, which can help reduce anxiety and increase self-confidence.
Addressing Common Concerns
Physical Harm in Dreams Lucid dreaming is fundamentally safe. In a lucid dream, everything is a creation of your mind. Therefore, nothing in the dream can physically harm you. Despite the vividness and realness of the dream experience, it remains entirely within your mental landscape, posing no physical danger.
Mental Health Risks Concerns about developing PTSD or other mental illnesses from lucid dreaming are unfounded. As soon as you wake up, it's clear that the events experienced in the dream were not real. On the contrary, lucid dreaming is often seen as a therapeutic tool for conditions like PTSD, as it allows individuals to reframe and manage their thoughts.
Potential Risks of Lucid Dreaming
While generally safe, lucid dreaming does come with a few risks as well:
Mixing Dream Memories with Reality Long-term lucid dreamers might occasionally confuse dream memories with real ones, creating false memories. This issue is rare and preventable by maintaining a dream journal and avoiding lucid dreaming about real-life people or places too frequently.
Escapism Using lucid dreaming to escape reality can be problematic if it interferes with your daily life. While it is sometimes beneficial to escape and relieve the stress of reality, relying on lucid dreaming for happiness can hinder personal growth and productivity.
Feeling Tired After Lucid Dreaming Some people report feeling tired after lucid dreaming. This tiredness is not due to the dreams themselves but often results from not getting enough sleep or using techniques that disrupt sleep patterns. Taking breaks and ensuring adequate sleep can prevent this.
Mental Exhaustion Lucid dreaming can be mentally taxing if practiced excessively without breaks. It’s important to balance lucid dreaming with regular sleep to avoid mental fatigue.
Lucid dreaming is safe and beneficial if done with caution. It has many benefits, such as overcoming fear and improving mental health, and minimal risks. There are many resources and tutorials available for those interested in trying it.

9. INTRODUCTION
Currently, many believe that it is not necessary to confess sin
because they call it a mere weakness linked to the environment
and hereditary aspects. In this lesson, we will see that the Bible
does not teach like this. In his epistle, the apostle John writes
that sin is real and, therefore, it is a danger to the life of the
believer, as its consequences are tragic. The biblical guideline is
that, if a sin occurs, it must be confessed and abandoned as
evidence of repentance so that the repentant believer can receive
God's forgiveness (1 John 2:9; cf. Ps 32:5).
9
12. I – CONFESSION OF SIN
1. Definition. The verb “confess”, from the Hebrew word
yadah, appears as “throw”, “throw”, “throw” (1 Kings 8.33), a
word that comes from the verbal root of hadah which means
“to extend the hand”. This word is present 900 times in the Old
Testament, appearing with the meaning of “become aware”,
“know”, “recognize”. The word appears in the OT in the
context of confession of sin (Ps 32:5).
12
13. In the New Testament, the Greek verb for “confess” is
homologéo, which means “to agree with”, “to consent”, “to
grant”. This word is made up of the root homou, together with
people gathered; and logos, the act of speaking. The word
homologue occurs 25 times in the New Testament (Mt 7.23,
Rom 10.9,10; James 5.16). There is an important Greek verb for
“confess”, eksomologéo (Mt 3.6), which means “to profess”, “to
openly and cheerfully acknowledge someone’s honor”; “publicly
promise to do something”, “commit to”. Therefore, we can say
that confessing is a way of declaring what one believes or knows.
13
14. 2. The biblical confession of sin. The general biblical
teaching on confession of sin brings the idea of
recognizing it and making a confession, as forgiveness
depends on this act (Ps 32.5; 1 John 1.9). This confession
may be at the time of conversion; or after it, when sins
committed may be against God or against a brother (Mt
5.21,22). It is important to highlight, however, that,
according to biblical teaching, it was only after the
confession of sins that one could truly live a life of prayer
and communion with God (Ne 1.6; Ps 66.18; Luke 18.9-
14). 14
15. 3. The symbol of confession of sin. In the act of confessing
sins, the person autonomously recognizes the sins committed
and that, therefore, they are unworthy of being in the presence
of God. She recognizes her sinful nature before the Most High
(Rm 3.10-12). Then, in sincere repentance and confession, he
seeks what is guaranteed to him through the Word of God:
forgiveness. Thus, whoever experiences the sincere and humble
act of confessing sin reaches God's mercy (Pr 28.13). Then the
soul is comforted and spiritual life is restored.
15
16. The biblical teaching on confession of sin
brings the idea of recognizing it and
making a confession.
SYNOPSIS I

18. 18
II – THE DANGER OF UNCONFESSED SIN
1. The evils of unconfessed sins. When we read and analyze
Proverbs 28:13, we realize that confession of sin is not only a
Jewish teaching, but also a Christian one. The Epistle of John
corroborates the need to confess sin, leave it and achieve
forgiveness (1 John 1.9). On the other hand, whoever ignores the
confession of sin, hiding it, lives a life of appearance and
spiritual death; similar to what our first parents, Adam and Eve,
lived when trying to hide their sins before God (Gen 3.8); as well
as King David, the man after God's own heart, who sought to
hide his sins from the Lord (2 Sam 11; 12).
19. 19
2. The consequences of Adam and Eve's sin. The biblical
reality of sin can be seen in the first couple, Adam and Eve,
when they sinned and, therefore, received due sentences (Gen
3.14-19). Furthermore, our first parents lost the right to live in
the most perfect and beautiful environment that God created
(Gen. 3:24). Therefore, in the lives of Adam and Eve there are
tragic consequences of sin, such as: changes in the physical
condition of both; the transition from immortal to mortal
nature; diverse tensions in the human race and in nature. Thus,
we know that the consequences of the sin of our first parents
were not limited to them, but permeated the entire human and
natural race (Rm 5.12-14).
20. 20
3. The consequences of David's sin. King David paid a high
price for his sin. The Bible shows that, therefore, the sword
would not leave his house (2 Sam 12.10-12). Chapters 11 and 12
of 2 Samuel reveal the conflict and sense of guilt that marked
the life of a man who, for a certain time, hid his sin, bringing
him moral illnesses and affliction that led him to groan. Psalm
32 shows that, by remaining silent, not confessing his sin, David
became increasingly weak, losing his spiritual vigor (Ps 32:2-4).
Psalm 51 shows the king's confession of sin, recognizing all his
mistakes so that they could be forgiven and the psalmist purified
(Ps 51:2-6).
21. The Word of God shows the need to confess
sin, leave it and thus achieve forgiveness.
SYNOPSIS II

III – CONFESSION OF SIN: A PATH OF
HEALING AND RESTORATION
1. Confessing sin to God. According to biblical teaching, the
confession of sins must first be addressed to God, through his
Son, as only He can forgive our sins (Ps 51.3,4; Mt 9.2,6).
Throughout his ministry, the Lord Jesus said to the sinful
woman: “Your sins are forgiven you” (Luke 7:48). In the Our
Father prayer, the Lord Jesus taught: “[Father] Forgive us our
debts, as we forgive our debtors” (Mt 6.12). In 1 John 1, we read
that our sins must be confessed to Christ (1 John 1:7-9). In this
way, forgiving sin is a prerogative of God the Father through the
Lord Jesus, through his work on Calvary.
24. 24
“[...] Hiding sin is deciding to
embark on a journey of spiritual
and emotional suffering.”
25. 25
2. Achieving healing and restoration. The golden text of this lesson
reminds us that hiding sin is deciding to embark on a journey of spiritual
and emotional suffering. But those who put aside pride and arrogance to
walk the humble path of confessing sin live a lighter life. There is
nothing more restorative than enjoying the Lord’s mercies (Pr 28:13).
There is nothing more consoling than confessing your sin and leaving it
definitively, as this way we will find rest for our soul. This entire process
of confessing and abandoning sin reveals the effectiveness of God's
ministry of reconciliation through Jesus Christ (2 Cor 5:18). Whoever
does this finds the path to healing and restoration, as we read in the
words of the psalmist: “While I was silent, my bones grew old through
my roaring all day long. [...] I confessed my sin to you and I did not cover
up my wickedness; I said, I will confess my transgressions to the Lord;
and you forgave the evil of my sin” (Ps 51:3,5).
26. Confession of sin is the only path to healing and
restoration of body, soul and spirit.
SYNOPSIS III
26
27. 27
CONCLUSION
In our Christian walk we are subject to sin. Covering it up
and living a superficial spiritual life is not a biblical option
for the path of healing and restoration. Therefore, a
journey of forgiveness is only possible with the
confession of the sin committed and the resolution to
abandon it once and for all. Whoever does this will enjoy
endless divine mercies
28. 1. What idea does the general teaching of the Bible bring
about the confession of sin?
The general biblical teaching on confession of sin brings
the idea of recognizing it and making a confession, as
forgiveness depends on this act (Ps 32.5; 1 John 1.9).
2. What does the person recognize in the act of confessing
sin?
In the act of confessing sins, the person autonomously
recognizes the sins committed and that, therefore, they
are unworthy of being in the presence of God.
Reviewing the content
28
29. 3. What can we understand in Proverbs 28:13?
When we read and analyze Proverbs 28:13, we realize that
confession of sin is not only a Jewish teaching, but also a
Christian one.
4. According to the lesson, what can happen to those who ignore
the biblical recommendation to confess their sin?
Hiding sin is deciding to embark on a journey of spiritual and
emotional suffering.
5. According to biblical teaching, confession of sins should be
addressed primarily to whom?
According to biblical teaching, the confession of sins must first
be addressed to God, through his Son, as only He can forgive our
sins. 29
