INTROTO CATHOLICISM
This course introduces students to the mystery of
Jesus Christ, the living Word of God, and the
Second Person of the Blessed Trinity. Students will
understand that Jesus Christ is the ultimate
Revelation to us from God. In learning about
whom He is, the students will also learn who he
calls them to be.

School Year 2024-2025
•Studentswill become familiar with the tradition and history
of Marianist life, philosophy, and spirituality.
•Students will learn about their call to holiness exploring how
God and the Church call us into action. They are introduced to
evangelization and martyrdom for Christ.
•Students will learn to see prayer as a permanent friendship
with God that can be done through words, music, gestures,
and meditation. Students explore different types of prayers
(Adoration, Thanksgiving, Contrition, and Petition).

•Studentswill develop a better understanding of the Trinity by
learning more about God the Father, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit
individually and how they come together to work as one.
•Students will learn to see and experience the Church as a
People of God and the Body of Christ. They review the
precepts of the church and develop a greater understanding
of the Papacy and its origin and history.
•Students will be given a greater understanding of the Blessed
Virgin Mary’s role in the early Church as well as through the
entire history of the Church. Mary is seen as a Mother of the
Church and model for life.

work is late and only a
30% will be granted if
the classwork was
submitted before the

ATTENDANCE
regular attendance is
important to succeed
in this course. In case
of absence, you are
responsible of
obtaining notes and
missed assignments
from other students
or canvas.
Be on time!
MAKE-UP
All students must make up
any missing evaluation the
day they return to school. If
the student was late to
school and missed the test,
the student needs to take
the test that same day
during middle block or
after school. Students who
fail to make up a test on
the time and date
determined will lose points
by the day.

CHEATING
Academic misconduct
may result in a failing
grade on the entire
assignment or test,
parent notification, and
administrative referral.
QUIZZES
A quiz thatis typically 1-10
points that is given at the
end of the class or the
following meeting. I
normally give a five minute
review for this.
Same as a mini quiz but this
one is normally a surprise
and is given if one or more
student misbehaves in class
or to ensure that the class is
listening during
lectures/lessons.
A quiz is normally 11 - 29
points. While a long quiz is
30 - 49 points. It is given
after the end of a topic. A
review is normally given
before the quiz.
