Responsibility
As part of the Drilling Department, the Drilling HSE Advisor’s responsibilities include
(but are not limited to):
 Assisting the COMPANY Drilling Management in the development
and delivery of fit for purpose Drilling Safety Management System(s)
 Review and input to the development and maintenance reports & HSE Impact
Assessments for Drilling activities
 Reviewing Contractors and Vendors Technical Safety Plans & Procedures
developed for the Drilling Phases
 Ensuring Design & Operated Performance Standards are developed and
maintained for all HSE Critical Systems within Drilling
 Ensuring the timely identification of HSE hazards, evaluation of risks for all
activities and development of effective tools to manage and reduce these risks
to ALARP
 Ensuring compliance by all parties with COMPANY’s HSE requirements and
regulations and all relevant legislation and statutory requirements, including all
laws, rules and regulations (as amended from time to time) of the governments.
 Ensuring effective management of change processes are implemented for
drilling safety related changes during all phases of drilling activities
 Providing input to leading and trailing drilling Safety performance measures
 Actively supporting the development and realization of a positive, value-centred
culture, shared by our contractors and focused on excellence
 Maintain contact with concerned groups for Drilling Safety issues
 Providing input to the collection of Lessons Learned for the Drilling activities

personnel

 Conducts hazard inspections in all work areas of the facility on a regular basis
ensuring that all necessary safety precautions are followed, any findings not
rectified are to be reported to the relevant Supervisor and the Offshore
Installation Manager (OIM).
 Coordinates and implements emergency drills as required.
 Works with the crews to improve safety standards and practices by participating
in tool-box talks, risk assessments, inspections, audits, and accident
investigations; sets personal example.

 Coordinates and conducts Occupational Hygiene monitoring, and implements
measures to mitigate identified hazards.
 Conducts and documents safety inspections to identify potential unsafe
conditions and hazards as required; takes immediate corrective action to
mitigate risk and correct any potential hazards.
 Involved in accident investigations and completes, maintains, and disseminates
required accident reports in conjunction with the DSV & OIM.
 Maintain a high level of visibility on the rig to observe and coach personnel on
working safely
 Ensure Company - Contractor EHS Bridging Document is communicated and
understood by all applicable personnel
 Monitor “safety and work” performance of contractors
 Provide support for emergency response activities including training, drills and
incident response
 Participate in, and coach personnel on, conducting effective Job Safety Analysis
 Monitor compliance to Environmental Management Systems of Hess and
Contractor to include Waste Management Compliance and waste generation
and disposition data
