This document describes two types of lenses. A converging lens is thicker in the center and thinner at the edges. It forms real or virtual images depending on the object's position and brings light rays together. A diverging lens is thicker at the edges and thinner in the center. It forms upright and reduced images and causes light rays to spread out after passing through the lens. Both lenses are used to refract light in different ways.
