Description of Business Idea
Our business is a charity organization that connects high-school students to underprivileged people. As students,
we know that a shortage of time impacts what we do for community service. Therefore, with our website and app,
we make donating to charities around the city easy. With our website, we have many features that cater to the
convenience of the student body; we easily outline what to donate. With our app, students can check whether their
donation is eligible based on its condition.
Problem
Our business addresses many issues. Firstly, Utahns are among the nation's worst wasters of food. On top of that,
young-adults in Utah waste the most food compared to any other age group. Secondly, 10% of Utah teens are
obese due to a lack of consumption of fresh fruits and vegetables. Finally, charities often don't accept perishable
foods because they are unable to store fresh food.
Solution
Every month we contact a charity and ask if there is a non-perishable item they need. Then, we sponsor school-
wide drives for both perishable and non-perishable items. We store all of the donated perishable items in a
refrigerator, and we donate all of these items prior to their expiration dates (which is outlined by our app). With
these steps, we address all of the aforementioned issues.

Our target consumer is students. Our company aims to provide sustainable items to underprivileged people by
catering to the convenience of students. Our unique app (which allows a user to check the eligibility of their
donation) and our website (which allows users to see information about our business) set our company apart from
any competitors. We are in the human services market.
