1. LEIBNIZ CALCULATOR
In 1671, the German
mathematician Gottfried Wilhelm
Leibniz designed a calculating
machine, called the Step Reckoner,
which was capable to perform
multiplication and division as well.

2. SOME FEATURES OF STEP
RECKONER
Mechanical device made of copper & steel.
The Step Reckoner represented nos. in
decimal form.
It is based on gear mechanism that Leibniz
invented (now known as Leibniz Wheel).
The purpose for making such a device was
only for easy, fast & reliable calculations.
