Job Description
The Department of Animal Science is seeking candidates for the position
of Lecturer/Adjunct Instructor in Animal Science with responsibilities in
undergraduate teaching and academic advising. Teaching activities will
include introductory courses related to food animals and introductory and
advanced animal science laboratory sections. Student management
responsibilities will include club and academic advising of undergraduates
in the Department of Animal Science.
This position will be filled as either a Lecturer or Adjunct Instructor.
Candidates interested in pursuing an advanced degree in the department
of Animal Science at Iowa State University must meet the required
qualifications for an Adjunct Instructor.
Lecturer:
Master's degree in animal science or other related field; training and/or
experience in food animal production; demonstrated evidence of effective
teaching and communication skills
Required Qualifications
Adjunct Instructor:
In addition to the above qualifications, the selected candidate must have
three years of relevant experience in the animal production or meat
processing industry.
Preferred Qualifications
Demonstrated evidence of ability to work collaboratively. Previous
involvement in Animal Science related undergraduate clubs and activities.
