Petroglyphs in idaho
Petroglyphs in Idaho date back up to 12,000 years and were created by pecking images into basalt rock surfaces. Many sites are located along the Snake River and its tributaries, including Wees Bar with one of the largest collections in Idaho, Celebration Park which is the state's only archaeological park, and Map Rock featuring petroglyphs in the shape of a map. Additional sites where petroglyphs can be viewed are Buffalo Eddy along the Snake River and sites on the shore of Lake Pend Oreille.
Early japanese painting styles
Early Japanese painting was heavily influenced by Chinese styles from the Tang Dynasty. The earliest high-style paintings found in tombs showed Chinese and Buddhist influences. The first major style was kara-e, meaning Chinese-style painting, which imitated Tang Dynasty works. Originally referring only to imported Tang works, kara-e later described paintings made in Japan by artists trained in China. As Japanese culture became more independent, the Yamato-e style developed featuring colorful gold backgrounds and scenes from nature or literature. - 2. Through my experience at the College of Western Idaho, I have made myself continually proud. I work full-time and go to school full-time. I have completed most of my credits online. As a result, I feel like I am an expert at learning independently.
- 3. REFLECTION I needed to develop certain best practices and strategies to achieve my lifetime goal of higher education. These skills have been time management, planning a head, and outlining clear goals. Through developing these skills, I have been able to succeed in my time at CWI.
- 4. Passing Grades on Assignments: I have passed the majority of my assignments at college with an A. Passing Tests: I have passed every test I have taken at the College of Western of Idaho. Passing Classes: Being able to pass tests and assignments has allowed me to get college credits.
- 5. PROOF OF LEARNING Moving up in the college hierarchy: Moving from a freshman to a sophomore; getting closer to completing my degree. Mentoring other students: I have taken on leadership roles in guiding other students. I wouldn’t have been allowed to do this if I hadn’t learned or mastered the material.
- 6. ANECDOTE My second semester in college, I had to take on a leadership role in my one my classes for a group project. After taking on more responsibility, I was able to nurture and grow some of my learning skills. By being pushed to take on more responsibility for this project, I developed my research and public speaking skills.
